Nintendo Set To Combine Wii And DS In New Service

Nintendo US boss Reggie Fils-Amie told the New York Times that Nintendo DS owners in the US will soon be able to download DS games via their Wii. The service which is likely to come into place early this year, offers both complete games and demos which are downloaded directly to the Wii via broadband then wirelessly transmitted to the DS.

This brings up the possibility of additional content for newer titles on the DS. Professor Layton is already working on new puzzles which have already been confirmed will be downoadable from the service. Will this finally get gamers to turn on their Wiis? Don’t look too excited UK gamers, because there was no confirmation of the service arriving in the UK… yet.
