Paramount have today announced a new stand alone Star Trek game based around the J.J Abrams film released two years ago.
The game looks set for a 2012 Q3 release and will continue where Abrams left off in his 2009 movie.
“Star Trek challenges the boundaries of co-op gameplay with a galactic adventure that gamers and fans have never experienced,” said Tom Lesinski, President of Paramount Digital Entertainment. “Working closely with the Star Trek filmmaking team throughout development, the game is sure to deliver AAA production values, a wide variety of gameplay and all the action you would expect from the hit franchise. This will be the definitive Star Trek gaming experience.”
The game will be developed by Digital Extremes, the same team behind Bioshock 2 and Unreal Tournament. Even the storyline is being hyped up with Marianne Krawczyk, the genius behind the God of War storyline, penning the new Star Trek plot. Star Trek promises to offer a definitive Star Trek gaming experience with “unprecedented co-op experience” as players take on the role of Kirk and Spock for the first time ever.
The game will also be making an appearance at this years E3 Expo in LA so keep an eye out for Star Trek screens, videos and news from Console Monster.
