New Spyro Earns Top Voice Talent

Most fans will agree that the last absolutely amazing Spyro game for consoles was the original. That’s right, since Spyro the Dragon for the PS1, the little, purple people eater that could just hasn’t. Spiraling out of people’s hearts since 1998, Spyro is getting another chance later this year

Said to come brimming with incredible, luscious graphics, The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon may be the one entry to bring the series back to its glory days. But the graphics won’t be the only thing keeping this ship afloat. Let’s leave that task to Mark Hamill.

Yup. Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon boasts a stellar list of talent when it comes to voice acting… the game will include the likes of Elijah Wood, Gary Oldman, Cristina Ricci, Blair Underwood, Mark Hamill and Wayne Brady.

In terms of gameplay, Al Simone, senior vice president, Global Marketing for Sierra Entertainment, had this to say: “Spyro has grown up a lot since his debut, and players are going to notice advanced gameplay, character design and story lines in Dawn of the Dragon… The game takes some exciting twists and turns – fans of the series and newcomers alike will experience non-stop fun, a renewed sense of intensity and the type of challenging adventure only Spyro can overcome.”

The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon will be released on each console in the fall of this year. Here’s to hoping that the voice acting for this one won’t be the main highlight of the game.
