New Peggle Xbox Live Arcade details

We’ve known for quite a while now that Peggle is arriving on the Xbox Live Arcade. Talking About Games have interviewed Greg Canessa, VP of the Video Game Platform Group at PopCap Games, who has revealed new details regarding arguably one of the most addictive game [ever! – Ed].

The game was originally expected to release in the second quarter of this year but will released in the second half of the year so the PopCap Games team can polish the game and improve on the overall product. The game is currently “entering the final development stages and heading off to the Microsoft Certification process soon.”

Canessa also discussed multiplayer details and confirmed “that the previously hinted at 2 player Arena mode will be a part of the XBLA release.” There will also be a four player competitive mode which will be playable over local multiplayer and Xbox Live – another feature which will is expected to be a part of the full release.

Canessa confirmed the team is working on level packs for the game though they will not be available from release. An 800 Microsoft Point price tag (about £6.50) has been set for the game though no solid release date has been confirmed.
