Modern Warfare 2 demo materialises

A long time ago in a game shop far far away, people were queuing up to purchases Infinity Ward’s latest first person shooter, Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 2, albeit at an inflated RRP compared to other games.

Some time after, a vocal number of gamers once more decried, as Activision published additional map packs for the title at the unholy price of 1200 MS Points. People bought it in spades anyway.

Now, nine months later, and at the surprising cost of “free”, a demo of the game has become available on Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network – Bobby Kotick must be on holiday at the moment.

The demo features the second level of the game, Cliffhanger, giving you the chance to climb ice mountains, shoot bad guys and escape on snowmobiles.

If you’ve not played this game yet, (where have you been?), then now’s your chance to check it out, and why not let us know about your experiences of the demo.

Marty Greenwell

Marty has been gaming since the heady years of the ZX-81 and still owns most of the gaming systems purchased since those days, including the Atari 2600, ZX Spectrum, SNES, Jaguar, Dreamcast and GameCube. Being a collection junkie (or more accurately, hoarder), he buys more games than he can possibly play, far too many of which are still sealed in their packaging. Marty favours RPGs and Driving games when it comes to genres, and is possibly a little bit too addicted to Disgaea. When not gaming he’s out frightening OAPs on his motorcycle, clad in black leather.
