Latest Wii update released

The latest update for the Nintendo Wii was released today, with changes to the Photo and Wii Shop channels.

The Photo Channel saw the MP3 support pulled from its features but now allows users to add customised icons to their albums. For those of you who are not willing to give up MP3 support yet just simply ignore the update.

The Wii Shop has been updated with the ability to send purchases from your Virtual Console to a friend. This feature has been talked about for some time now and is a welcome addition to the Wii. Sadly, Nintendo have decided to block any transfers from different regions, so if you wanted to give your friend over the pond a present this Christmas you are out of luck!

Another addition to the Wii Shop is the arrival of Pokémon Snap. This Nintendo 64 game has been updated with Wii functionality, which is a first for any game currently available on the VC. The only change from the original is the new function to be able to take pictures from the game and send them to your friends via your message board. Although not a major update, this is a stepping stone to new features being added to Nintendo classics in the future.
