Jet Grind Radio being remade?

Jet Grind Radio being remade?

Kotaku heard at Comic Con that, quite recently, Sega filed a trademark on a game by the name of Jet Grind Radio. Now, for those with who loved the Jet Radio series will know that Jet Grind Radio was released for the Dreamcast many moons ago and was, in a word, amazing. Full of colourful levels, brilliant soundtrack and awesome skating sections mixed with graffiti areas, Jet Grind Radio was fantastic.

The trademark mentions, along with the usual “video game software” tag, “downloadable game programs”, “game programs for use with mobile phones”, and “game programs for use with hand-held game machines.” Does this mean that Jet Grind Radio may be making it’s way to XBLA/PSN? Or maybe the iPhone? Or even the DS? Maybe even the Wii! Imagine graffiting with the Wii mote, which would work very well with the ridiculous looking Wii Spray.

I’m very excited about this and hope that it’s true. However, it could just be Sega protecting the Jet Grind Radio name from copycats. Let’s hope it’s more than that.
