Ryan Payton, former assistant producer on the recently-released Metal Gear Solid 4 has been recruited into the ranks for a Microsoft Halo project. Payton is known for aiding the Metal Gear franchise with Western designed elements. Alongside Metal Gear Solid 4 he has also aided in the design of Metal Gear Online and Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops.

Whilst Payton is rumoured to be directing a new Halo project, this has not been confirmed and therefore will remain in the rumour department until we can learn more. What is known is that the team is working on upcoming and existing Halo games, which can only spell good things for the future of Halo fans!

Also confirmed to be joining Microsoft Games Studios is Corrine Yu of Gearbox Software, Kenneth Scott of Doom house id Software, David Wu former tech director at Full Auto Pseudo Interactive and lastly Frank O’Conner, the ex-Bungie content manager.

A rather fantastic line-up developing new and exciting games within the Halo universe. Things are looking promising for the future of the green helmed hero himself.
