Future Publishing have announced that the annual Golden Joystick Awards have entered their short-list voting stage.

Now in its 26th year, voting is open to any console jockey. A game can be selected from a list of titles in the following categories:

• Ultimate Game of the Year
• The Sun Family Game of the Year
• Nuts All Nighter Award
• BBC 1Xtra Soundtrack of the Year
• Bliss Handheld Game of the Year
• Editor’s Choice
• The One To Watch Award
• 4Talent Mobile Game of the Year
• Nintendo Game of the Year
• Online Game of the Year
• PC Game of the Year
• PlayStation Game of the Year
• Xbox Game of the Year
• Publisher of the Year
• Retailer of the Year
• UK Developer of the Year

If ensuring that your favourite title wins isn’t enough incentive to vote, every ten thousandth person who puts their ballot paper in the pot, will net a prize. Wii and Xbox 360 consoles are up for grabs, as well as Sony TV’s, short listed games for all categories, magazine subscriptions to a number of gaming titles and exclusives prizes from Madcatz.

Head over to the Golden Joystick Awards website to make your voice count.

About The Author

Marty has been gaming since the heady years of the ZX-81 and still owns most of the gaming systems purchased since those days, including the Atari 2600, ZX Spectrum, SNES, Jaguar, Dreamcast and GameCube. Being a collection junkie (or more accurately, hoarder), he buys more games than he can possibly play, far too many of which are still sealed in their packaging. Marty favours RPGs and Driving games when it comes to genres, and is possibly a little bit too addicted to Disgaea. When not gaming he’s out frightening OAPs on his motorcycle, clad in black leather.
