Fall Update Issue BEWARE!

Fall Update Issue BEWARE!

Published On December 4, 2007 | By Anthony Barker | News

With the fall update only a few hours away now, there will no doubt be quite a few anxious Xbox 360 gamers poised with their controllers ready to update and try out all the new dashboard features.

We have received word of an issue that comes along with this fall update and we thought it would be best to let you know about it, so that you don’t fall into the nasty trap of losing all your Xbox.com forum posts, user level and icons etc.

Xbox gamer girl – Trixie tells us all…

“If you change the Live ID associated with your gamertag (as the Dash update allows you to do), you will lose all of your forum posts, CUL and icons. All your posts will appear as ‘anonymous’. We’re hard at work on a fix, but we don’t have a fix ready to go out with the update.

If you are particularly attached to your Community User Level or forum icons please DON’T change your Live ID until we deploy a fix. It should only be a few days, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We will let you know as soon as it is safe to change your Live ID and keep all your forum goodness.

If this is not an issue for you, please go ahead and change your Windows Live ID if that is what you wish to do.”

So there you have it, beware of this fall update issue but most of all enjoy the update when it rolls out at 10am GMT today! If you have downloaded the fall update and spot anything you like or dislike about it, why not let us know by posting your opinions in our comment area below.
