EA Sports announce 2006 Fifa World Cup

When EA released Fifa 06: Road to the Fifa World Cup, we all gasped in disbelief as the game ended BEFORE the World Cup. Now we understand why, as EA today announced that the only offiical Football (soccer) World Cup game would be theirs:

2006 Fifa World Cup.

Featuring ‘stunning’ representations of world class players and 12 authentic stadiums from around Germany that will host the World Cup, players will be able to take their team through qualifying and the tournament itself.

We just hope, and pray, that the game is better than their Fifa 06 attempt, which only scored a low 7/10 on our review (and we were being nice!).

Three screenshots from the Xbox 360 version has also appeared, and can be seen HERE. 2006 Fifa World Cup will hit shelves in April to coincide with the Fifa World Cup.
