The summer is well and truly here, with festivals taking place all over the world. To get in the spirit of things, DICE has announced Battlefest.

As the name suggests, Battlefest is a festival built for gamers, specifically Battlefield 4, with weekly rewards, contests and in-game content on offer. DICE also revealed that they will be “working on improving the gameplay experience, adding new initiatives like the CTE environment, and also developing the next two expansions packs”.

The festival starts with a weekend of double XP starting on July 12th, 2014. On the same day, DICE launch their first daily contest, Battleshots, where they are asking gamers to send in a Battlefield 4 screenshot based on a different theme requirement.

In a blog post on their official site, DICE said: “[Battlefest] is a fun way to give back to our community and say thanks, while doing some cool things in the game. Not to mention, there will be tons of prizes, including graphics cards and three gaming PCs, provided by AMD.”

In the Console Monster review, Battlefield 4 was described as “a great addition to the series”. You can read the full review here.

Further details of Battlefest can be found on the official blog post.
