Crytek No Longer PC Exclusive

Crytek No Longer PC Exclusive

For some time now, people have been absolutely lusting over the idea that Crysis may one day be brought to the 360. Most would say that the concept has actually become a bonafide rumor.

All of this news comes in light of the recent talks Crytek has had over the piracy that has followed Crysis on the PC. Cevat Yerli, president of Crytek, spoke with PC Play and had this to say: “…[piracy] was a big lesson for us and I believe we won’t have PC exclusives as we did with Crysis in future.”

That opens up a little room for speculation as to whether or not Crysis will ever hit the 360. My take? Probably not. The statement really doesn’t add any solidity to the rumor. And I just do not think that Crytek is willing to reduce the quality of Crysis enough to be played on the 360. Most of the reviews come with glaring praise over how beautiful the game is. In fact, for most, that’s a selling point. Would a dumbed down version sell as well?

The statement does, however, create a promise for Crytek’s presence on both the 360 and maybe the PS3. Adding more developers, especially great ones, is always good news.
