Brian Lara 07 Smashing Onto Xbox 360
Codemasters have announced that Brian Lara International Cricket 2007 will be making the franchises first next-generation outing on Xbox 360. Big things are expected of this outing. International Cricket 2005 was the first cricket game to ever top the All Formats Chart in the UK. Cricket’s popularity has soared in the UK in recent years, ith the advent of Twenty-20 (where both sides bat for just 20 overs as opposed to test games which last for 5 days) and England’s reclaiming of the Ashes in 2005.
The game will feature the ability to play Test Matches and One-Day games as well as the fully licensed ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC Cricket World Cup. Xbox Live play is also included for the first time in the series. As the title suggests, the game will only include International sides so anyone hoping to play as their favourite county (i.e. Me) may have to wait and hope for EA to bring out Cricket 2007. There’s also no (officially) Twenty-20 games.
Codemasters have been improving several aspects of the gameplay, hopefully the game will be much more skill based, other than luck. Player likeness is said to be “photo-realistic” and all the World Cup and Champions Trophy stadia will be included as well as the likes of Lords and the Oval.
