It’s time to take another plunge into the underwater city of Rapture as an update and new content for Bioshock has been released today for XBOX Live Gold members (with XBOX Live Silver members receiving the content within the next week or so). The content named “Ryan Industries Plasmids and Gene Tonics” is downloadable for free from the XBOX Live Marketplace contains new gene tonics and plasmids to help you on your adventure. The four plasmids and tonics that come with this pack are: Sonic Boom (which hurls creatures and objects back with a blast of force), EVE saver (which enables plasmids to use less Eve), Vending Expert (which reduces the prices in the vending machines) and Machine Buster (which increases the amount of damage players deal to cameras, bots and turrets).

Along with the new content is an update which will be available to you next time you play Bioshock. The update will add a widescreen option; add a fix for a rare case where a partial cache is not cleared, increase Atlas’ volume in German, fix GUI sounds not playing during heavy action, fix not being able to take picture of Cobb in Rec, a possible fix for pauses or hangs when opening flash bink movies, a fix for switching difficulty breaking achievement, fix for small texture streaming bug and a fix for a rare hang when a lot of things are going on at once.

The update comes with a new secret achievement called “Brass Balls” worth 100 GamerScore. To unlock this achievement you need to “Complete the game on Hard difficulty without using a Vita-Chamber”.
