Had some of the greatest multiplayer games ever made, an innovative controller and no load times due to it still using cartridges. Still one of my favourite consoles, games like:
Mario 64 Zelda: Ocarina of Time (pure genius) Goldeneye Mario Kart Perfect Dark Donkey Kong 64 |

The N64 is still my favourite console ever. As Benj has said, it was utterly fantastic for multiplayer, but had some relatively long-lasting single-player titles as well, such as Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. I wouldn't recommend it if you're only going to be playing on your own, but if you can get a few controllers and get some mates round, you'll love it. I still play the N64 quite regularly, and I don't think there's ever going to be a better console for sheer gaming enjoyment.
Single player games you should get hold of: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Probably the single greatest game ever, and if there's one N64 game you should get, this is it. Super Mario 64 - Difficult to really describe just how good this actually is. But trust me, it is excellent. Banjo Kazooie - Pretty much the same as above. Genius from Rareware. Jet Force Gemini - Highly under-rated, but yet another great game from Rare. Conker's Bad Fur Day - Third Rare game in a row - hilarious, and a damn good adventure game too. The fact that it has a boss called the "Great Mighty Poo" which has to be defeated with bogroll should be enough to sell you this game. ![]() Multiplayer games you should get hold of: Mario Kart 64 - In my opinion, the most enjoyable racing game ever created. Endless hours of fun in multiplayer. Goldeneye - Dearie me, I really don't know where I'd be without Goldeneye. Hundreds of hours wasted in the Temple, Complex, Facility and Stack. And don't you dare try and tell me I wasted my time. ![]() ISS98 - Probably my most-played football game ever. It feels really old in comparison to Pro Evolution Soccer titles these days, but back in the day it was wonderful. WWF No Mercy - Best wrestling game ever. Period. Perfect Dark - Like Goldeneye, but with bots, and better levels. Diddy Kong Racing - Like Mario Kart, but with Rare characters and a much better single-player mode. Smash Brothers - Screw Tekken and DOA, this is a beat-'em-up. Mario Party 2 - They've kind of ruined this series (I think they're on the 7th edition now), but back when MP2 was around, it was the best party game on the console. Strictly multiplay only, though. I'm sure there's plenty more, but I think I've listed enough for just now.

Lylat Wars!
Can't believe I missed that out. The only flaw was that you had to play through the game in one sitting. There were no save points.

Yep, the N64 is amazing!
Absolutely love it, some of the best games ever are on the N64! Check out my more-or-less complete games from the link in my sig. Need to dig out the games from the back of a cupboard one day to check what I've missed out!

This is NINTYs cjance to exploit the DS market. I would buy almost all of these if they came out on the DS and even sequels or 2 oldies on a card as they can fit.
I would LOVE to see this happen. You mean where was I?...eh...canoeing. |

IMO, the best console in history...The best games ever, which we can only dream of them re-releasing on the 360! Especially Super Mario 64 and Donkey Kong 64 (Not forgetting Goldeneye of course) it was just top notch.
It had quality graphics for the time aswell.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the controller, Thornbag.
Personally, I found it perfect. It was ideally suited for Goldeneye due to that trigger, and despite having 3 handles, it was and still is the ideal controller. The Gamecube one was comfier, but for button layout and general ease of use the N64 one kicks ass. |

I mean, it's slow, the graphics are pretty poor, and the story mode wasn't great... but for some reason, I just loved it. It just feels right. *shrug* I love it. |

Nah, Mario Kart 64 was better.
![]() Diddy Kong Racing was enjoyable in multiplayer, and had a good single player adventure mode, but it controlled too weirdly. Mario Kart felt perfect. |

The single-player was pretty poor, yeah, but I think multiplayer more than made up for it. The courses were better than DKR's courses, and battle arenas were good as well.

They will be, but you're as well just getting the console itself, because downloading N64 games on the Revolution is going to cost you about the same as it would to get an N64 nowadays anyway.
Rumoured prices range from $10-20, which is £6-12 anyway. You can get some N64 games for cheaper than that in second hand places like Gamestation or on eBay. |

Definitely.
If I didn't have the 15-odd titles that I do have, I'd definitely download all of them, as well as plenty more that I never had the cash for at the time. |

I think if they took the points system like Microsoft do with the 360 that would work(I mean for buying games) but where will they be stored???

Heh, good point actually.
Nintendo are going to have to include some kind of built-in hard-drive. Either that, or their memory cards are going to have to be pretty damn big. |

256Mb a N64 game andf I think its about 512RAM or DRAM.
BTW did anyone use the NINTY STAR SYSTEM. You got 250 when you bought a first party game, maybe you can use them as I had about 10 000(dont ask where i got them
