Little Britain!

Oh man is Little Britain a great TV series or what?!

I first started watching it when it was on the SBS (Special Broadcasting Service) a few months ago, which basically a TV station which caters for International programs from every country in the world. So far only season 1 has been aired in Australia, and that was a good enoughn excuse for me to go out and buy the first season on DVD.

Favourite characters from season 1:
-Lou & Andy
-Ray McCoony
-Daffyd Thomas (The only gay in the Villiage)
-Kenny Craig (stage Hypnotist)
-That wierd Russian communist baby-sitter

On an irregular outing into the City a few days ago I walked into a big DVD store to find a large number of "Little Britain: Season 2" DVDs on display. I instantly pulled it off the shelf and bought it, then took it home and watched it for the full 343 minutes non-stop. Man, season 2 is the most offensive thing I have ever seen on TV...and I've seen the Osbournes.. This season features some very 'wierd' sketches including one character (Harvey "Bitty" Pincher) who is in his mid 20s and is still breast-fed. Yeah...it's worse when you watch it. And then there's "Bubbles" De Vere: an overweight lady (who looks in her 50s) who's attended a health spa for the past 5 months and is constantly being hounded by the manager to pay for her time there (over 20000 pounds), but she reckons that she can get away with it by constantly exposing herself all over the place in a very 'graphical' display...

Oh, man! To anyone who hasn't seen Little Britain: You don't know what you're missing out on!

It's over-rated. Some of it is very funny, yes, but the fact that it won the "Best British comedy" is an outrage.

Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, Red Dwarf, and loads more great comedy programmes are much better than it.

I agree with you 100% there AfroJoe, I watched a few episodes from series 1 and it was okay but I'd rather watch other sitcoms like Faulty Towers for example. But I think I will watch the episodes in the new series 3, just so I don't get bored when my friends talk about the episode non stop.

Little Britain is quailty no matter what people say about the new seris. The only disappoint for me was the dropping of kenny craig the stage hyponotist.

I agree its not the best series out there (ahem: blackadder, red dwarf, monty python), but you have to agree its pretty funny...I'm sure that everyone in the UK is sick of it by now but it's fairly unknown in Australia and the kind of TV shows we get around here absolutely suck (ever seen Neighbours? ). I guess I'm just on a high after watching the second season for the first time..

Can't believe theres still no Ray McCooney (mad scottish hotel owner) in series 3. Yeeeeeeeeesssss! its true hes gone *plays flute*.



However a lot of people are bored of it now after 2 series I think that the current 3rd series should be its last.

What do you mean hes been drooped after two seris's he was cut after the 1st seris lol. (He was briliant though)

Seriously, that's been a dinner time regular in the house of AJ for many a year now. Quality TV.

Yes well all us Australians know how much the UK peeps love our Neighbours. I think we're like 5 weeks ahead of you guys or something like that. Hopefully nothing much has been happening in the world of neighbours since I started working more shifts a few weeks ago, but I watched it monday night...want me to tell you anything about what's happening 5 weeks in the future?

Err, right now we're at the part where Stuart's brother is working for Paul... Izzy is going mental with the pills, Susan's relationship with that new guy is just starting, and Karl and Janae have just fallen out.

oh yes...I remember now! Do you REALLY want to know what happens? Well, basically Janae runs off to Colak to find her Dad, but no-one in Erinsborough knows where she is, except Karl, but if he was to say anything it would be just like saying he had a relationship with not only a child but one of his patients and could lose his practice. But the BIG BIG BIG thing that's about to happen and I'm sure you'll LOVE is that pretty much half of Ramsay street go onboard a small plane for a flight to Tasmania, which has been rigged with a BOMB. Dillan is on that plane while his family are being questioned about an Armed robbery he was involved with (interesting stuff, eh?). But here's the big thing. The plane EXPLODES over Bass Straight (water between Australia and Tasmansa) and everyone falls out. David and Lil are no where to be found, Dillan and Skye are separated, Serena and Conner were stuck in the cabin while the plane was sinking...but managed to escape, Paul, Izzy, and Paul's daughter (can't remember her name) all survive too, and so does Suzan and her boyfriend (fiance?)...

Dillan and Conner end up on an Island somewhere, but decide not to allow themselves to be rescued. Conner reckons that his Life Insurance payout will pay off all his debts and help out his daughter. Dillan was going to be arrested for armed robbery when he was supposed to arrive at Tasmania Airport, so he's avoiding arrest by staying lost. Back in Erinsborough everyone's feeling sad and grieving over those who died, and theres a funeral service for Dillian, meanwhile Dillan decided to return and face his family, the cops etc. and decides to rock up to his own funeral (looking a bit like a soapy, eh?)! Dillan get's arrested, and so does Scott ("stingray") and they both get chucked into prison where Dillan tries to protect him. But Scott finds a niche and realises that he can fix things for all the prison mates in return for security as well as junk-food. But now it seems that the very person who was to blame for them being in prison, is now too in the same prison thanks to Paul Robinson who made some sort of deal with him to get the Timmons boys out of prison...but that doesnt look too good, last I saw he gave them a VERY evil look..

OK..that just about sums up what's been happening and what I've been watching..

We don't have a clue what season it's at.

But yeah, thanks a lot. Sounds excellent... if a little "out of reach" for Neighbours.

I didn't find myself laughing much in it. I don't think Little Britain is for me, I prefer watching the likes of The Simpsons and Family Guy.

The new seris is good but nothing ;ike those before it I read in newspaper that since it started (the season 3 that is) 3 million viewershave turn it off!! P.S Family Guy and American Dad kick ass!
