Large and Small Remote

Just noticed this pic. Anyone know as to why theres two different kinds of remote for the 360. Seems only the numeric keypad is missing from the small one. Photo was from TGS so maybe the small ones only for the far east only?

Just a guess. The one on the right could be a universal remote and could run your TV, DVD and etc.

Yes... one would be for the XBox media only and the other would be more for TV as you can use the keypad for selecting channels I would presume. The large one is quite long though, the small one seems like a better fit to more living rooms. The white controller looks almost "too" white. Maybe if it was made with the same shiny material as the iPod Nano and could scratch easy people would flock over it

What is the remote for? Like watching DVD's etc?

I have one on PS2 and it really handy

The DVD playback on the PS2 borderlines on poking your eyes out with a pencil!

I played one DVD on my PS2 and it was crappy, and the remote has very tiny buttons.

But then again with the XBox you had to buy the remote before you could even play a DVD.

Standard Remote:

Only works with Xbox.

Universal Xbox Remote:

Works with any TV, DVD Player, Xbox 360 Console and VCR. Just basically a regular universal with an Xbox feature. =)

Both can turn off and on the console, and eject the game discs.

is there one that can take your game off the shelf and put it into the actual game tray?

Now that would be funny.

Well, depandant on price, i'd imagine i'll get the Universal one, sounds extremely cool!

Universal will be sold seperatley at around $30.

The big one will eat the small one....lol. Leaving me with only one choice.

Actually, the Core System package does not come with a remote, and the Premium package comes with the large Universal Remote (or a limited time, that is).

Premium still comes with regular.

A limited number of Premium packages are being shipped with the large Universal Remote. After the promotion the package will ship with the smaller Standard Remote, and then if you want the Universal Remote you will have to purchase it seperately for $30.

I wonder how many limted premium packs they are gonna release. I would love to get one with my pre-order

Probably. There's no doubt that the entire first shipment will contain the Universal Remote for sure. The second shipment most likely will, too.

Great its just what I need another remote got loads of them already. I will probably have the smaller one though.
