Live Tournaments

In the future, we would like to arrange tournaments for the website, they will be held on different games, so you can join all of them, or just the ones that you play.

The idea, is to have a sort of currency on the forums, they increase by 1 everytime you post, increase by 2 when you start a new thread, increase by 5 when you refer someone to the site, increase by 100 if you buy a game via the website etc.

We will hold two types of tournaments, one will be a completely free tournament, which you can partake in. If you win any cups or win a league system etc, you will receive some Monster Coins, so to speak. Perhaps 100 or so.

Once you have a certain number of monster coins, lets say, 2,500+, you will be able to exchange them for games/accessories maybe collect enough and you'll get a console or something

We will also add 20 coins for those who submit articles, help with cheats, screenshots etc and general news items. So whilst helping the site out, you'll be able to save up for a game.

The 2nd type of tournament, would be a pay to enter tournament. This will be done using paypal, via the subscription form on the site. It will most likely be 1 Euro or equivelant to join a tournament. The bonus, is that the winner takes home a prize, such as a game. Depending on more people entering, we'll hand out 2nd and 3rd prizes. And if it becomes popular, the prizes could be as large as Widescreen TV's or other technological stuff.

Both definately - great ides mate

If the site makes enough dosh, we'll set up an event every year, where by all the members can come down to a big hall or something, all bring the Xbox 360's and we'll have massive tournaments

I am liking some kind of program that should be built so we can have league tables etc

I'm all for both. One euro isn't that bad either, but you might want to raise that to maybe 5 for the first few tournaments. Then, as they grow more popular and more people join, lower it gradually.

I'd probably be up for both 1 euro wont dent the wallet

I like the paying idea if it means we can win prizes

I like the whole monster currency thingy. Reminds me of xbox.net. They have the exact same principles, where you earn currency for posting or whatever and you can trade in that currency for a game, or accessory, or subscription to a magazine or whatever...

I think we (or I) wanted to have the same thing on 360sector, but...yeah..

Hey Steve... amazing man... count me in if I got the game in question! I'll even pay you a little extra just for fun! Nah, kidding, I just pre-ordered the XBOX360 Premium package, got like 6 bucks left on my account and no food in the freezer!

Can I change my vote please? I've got a nasty habit of voting before reading the post... I would pay a Euro to enter a tournament.

Nice ideas guys, I like the idea of user points for getting involved, that means I would already have bonus points for reffering Moria!

i like the idea for gaining points for taking part in the forum, tis a reli good idea, but then people would just spam to gain points and would ruin all the fun.

well like i said its a good idea but if people gain points for posting then people would most likely spam the forums to gain loads of points, other than that it sounds good

The free one sounds good to me. It would be nice to have tournaments and you get I don't know a little virtual trophy then if you win of course.

I would pay for any tourney. As long as the price won't exceed lets say $25
