Sony Needs Loan!! $$$

Sony have taken out a massive loan of ¥80 billion!! Their first since the first Playstation. Plus they owe the Japanese authorities ¥28 billion in unpaid taxes. If the PS3 struggles in anyway could Sony go into melt down!

Maybe yes, maybe no..
I just keep hearing those words ring in my head "We would sell 6 million PS3's even if we had no games". Which draws me to hope Sony gets spanked!!

I like their non-PlayStation-related stuff, so it would be bad if they went ouf of business completely.

8 Billion Yen though is like 10 bucks.

It sounds bad when you see the figures...but we need something to reference those figures against to get a real picture.

It may be par the course for all we know.

Sorry, 80 Million Dollars. Anyways, that means nothing to a company thats worth a good 50-100 billion.

I'm sure they'll get that back due to all of the people like my friend who will buy the PS3 no matter what. He likes the PS3 over the 360 because Sony is the "expensive" brand.

Anyway, it would be a major loss, and even if Sony has deep pockets, a loss of that much cash, would hurt any company, even MS.

And Steve, I highly doubt Sony is worth 500 Billion, Not even Microsoft is worth that much.

I didnt say 500 billion. I said 50-100 billion.

I have nothing against any company except NewsCorp but apart from that I don't dislike Sony they have some good products.

However Sony have been getting fairly cocky, which really pisses me off, well anyone being cocky does. Like some Labour MP saying that Labour are going to be in power for another 10 Years, so I voted for Conservative to TRY and them off. (I doubt it worked, but the abusive e-mail went down well)

Big Companies borrow Big Cash, sometimes they make a loss but most the time they make a huge profit. Anyways if it wasn't for Microsoft software profits bailing the Xbox 360 out, mIcrosoft would be making a loss right now.

Just go into all the banks and building societies you can and get a loan,... If you get enough, the banks will be blamed for lending money to someone who obviously can't pay it back and your'll get to keep most of it.

who would honestly pay £700 (I think they say the ps3 will be that much) for technology that hasn't gotten all the bugs out of it's system yet?

Its pretty much a good thing

PS started as a fan based popular impressive machine that supplied on demand and everyone literaly loved.

PS2 even more hype and paid off then they got arrogant and now theyve shot themselves in the foot

Unpaid taxes!? now Loans! and a machine thats already sold with a crp design which makes it overheat!

Meanwhile back at Microsoft they have no debt, richest company in the world, fan support and got there top quality machine out last year
