End Of The Line For Sony.

Is it just me or do you think that sony is at the end of its stranglehold over the console market. the PS3 is being sold at a ridiculous price and the company have released footage which they are not stating is in game or not.
Everyone i know is not going to buy one. At 410£ it is ridiculous. They are dragging out more of there franchises ie MGS4 And Killzone 2.... with no original ideas of there own they are stealing ideas off trhe other consoles eg the wii's motion sensitive moveability the 360's ring of light idea which is going to access sony's MARKETPLACE. The PS3 is Going to be the new Sega Saturn.

What do you lot think.

I doubt it will sell, I would of been tempted but at that price its stupid.

if micro soft bout the MGS seies and the socom seriees, sony woundnt sell a console in the west...

i agree dude, with the 360 got games like Gears of War and Prey, if sony keep just revamping older generation titles it will be pretty poor on there part, and the price is just rediculous. But i am sure they will bring some new titles out like the 360 has over time

i reli would like mS to buy the socom series, one coz i love the game and 2 to put sony out of the consol war, i aint gunna happen, sony aint gunna lest MS buy their only decent online game..too bad reli

i think that the Wii will sell really well its backward compatability ideas are very intriguing. while sony as it seems is rehashing previous titles the psp is whimpering in the corner and the only original game i can see from the ps3 is Assasins creed ( which is sonys attempt at oblivion ) LOL. BYE BYE.

Atm Ubisoft have not confirmed or denied a 360 version.

See what you think. Ubisoft love their multiformat stuff, so making a 360 version would net them more money in the end, instead of staying single format live many developers do.

as forthe ps3imnotbuying till its cheap or icanget it cheap 2ndhand, then ill buy all the good games i carnt get on the 360 which wont be many

Websites with preorders like that are often just careless errors, though.

Still, Sony has clearly started paying less priority to third-party exclusives. I'm betting it'll be a soft exclusive, like the GTA series. We'll probably get Creed 4-6 months after the PS3 does.

Sony will sell PS3s no matter what because of the success of the PS2 but I would imagine a lot of the sales were down to the £100ish price wich took a couple of years to get down too.

The PS3 could never be the new saturn, the 360 can still be the new saturn.

i think even though its had real bad reviews i still thin it will sell incredibly well, seeing as everyone i talk to in my area loves sony like a mofo, i think it will out sell the X360 regardless

Mmm. The 360 is pretty much already past the Saturn hurdle. It could still be a Dreamcast, however. But the PS3 won't be a Saturn either. It -could- be an N64.

If you think the PS3 won't sell, you're kidding yourself. There will already be a good number of people who will buy the PS3 as a cheaper blu-ray player, the fan boys who would buy the PS3 even if it gave you aids, people who will buy it because they're not sure about the other consoles and people like myself who have bought a 360 but will also buy a PS3 as I do not feel the need to have an allegiance to a console or company.

Of course it's going to sell...but not enough to increase their market share...that's going to decrease a lot I reckon.

Microsoft has taken note of first-party exclusivity, and in-house development; Mario, Zelda, Samus and other games developed in-house have kept Nintendo afloat.

Sony haven't invested as much as Nintendo or Microsoft have in developing in-house games, or certainly haven't made as much games of note than the other two have.

It could prove to be Sony's downfall, because it's not the hardware that'll sell the console, it'll be the games, for me. Metal Gear Solid 4 is the only reason I would buy the PS3, and even then I'm prepared to wait for the price to drop.

Yep my favourite Ninty games all being kept a float and invested in to keep the franchise going.

MS now get a joint launch date for GTA IV when it was expected it would be a launch exclusive for Sony. RARE have theri Magic titles with Banjo Kazooie and Conkers Bad Fur day.

At the end of the day its PS3 or MS and it will be the games who determine the "wiinner"

Yeah I dunno, I was all up for buying one, Then I saw the price and just asked my self is it worth payin that much for lies from sony...and there marketplace isnt as good as Microsofts ( From E3 2006 )
I was all of E3 Live 2006 on Gamespot.com, and just heard all the lie's they would tell...I dunno i've never been a fan boy i've always bought all the console's but sony have gotten right on my , and i dont think im going to be spending my hard-earned cash with thier company.. But thats just me

and now that GTA is coming to 360 w00t

The only downside to what i've said is ... I dont want to get a Ps3..but i GOT to, Im a massive Metal Gear Solid fan and with MGS4 coming to the ps3, i gotta get that

To be honest, I don't see it being the case of a winner or loser. Both consoles will sell millions of units so it's just the case of who sells more. But lets face it, if MS sell 10,000,000 and Sony sell 9,500,000, both companies are winners!
