Default Linking the 360 with a Mac?

Will we be able to link the Xbox 360 to a mac? I am getting a Mac mini next week and need to know if I should keep my PC so I can stream media from it. Anyone got any official news on this?

I dont think anything is concrete on this subject, I've heard that the iPod and PSP supposed to have media streaming support to the Xbox360. As for over network streaming I would be supprised if this does work with a Mac, being Microsoft n'all. I would imagine it would only be compatible with Media Center PC's.

Only time will tell...

I am gonna be so annoyed is you can't stream from a mac! I know you can get something called Virtual PC for the Mac which runs Windows on a Mac OS so maybe this will work. Do you think that it will have to be Windows Media centre or will normal XP do it?

It appears you cant. It also appears that you do in fact, have to use a Windows Media Center operating system as well. Which I, for one, wont be forking out on.

At least you can use your iPod

I sold my Ipod mini and now use my SPV M500 to play my tunes on the way to work I am sure someone will release some homebrew software to let us stream media, we just have to give it time

Make the connection, and Xbox 360 instantly streams the digital media stored on your MP3 player, digital camera, Media Center PC, or any Microsoft® Windows® XP-based PC.
I imagine it will be a USB connection, and most probably won't work with MAC's.

Some places are reporting that only Media Center PCs will work, and some are reporting that any XP-based machine can. Even Microsoft's website can't make up its mind. I guess we'll find out for sure when the console is released.

Really? I thought it would be through ethernet. Your live connection is going through that anyway and your PC and Xbox will be connected to the same router...

Also it's not "MAC", it's "Mac". "MAC" is a computer networking address or something like that.

Mac will not work. XP based (which is what i have and will be keeping) will stream music and photos while media center will stream the high def tv and recording all that tv crap...all I care about is music...and a photo here and there.

While listining to MajorNelson's podcast he did mention that you would be able to use a mac but not sure what you can and cant do with it.

If you want you can subscribe to his podcast Here He talks about it on #129 almost at the end with his interview with the media center guy.
