Default Halo:Legends Episode Discussion

Episode Discussion

1.The Babysitter

Quote:
STUDIO4°C's 'The Babysitter' tells the story of four helljumpers sent on a mission to eliminate a key covenant prophet on a distant planet. Their biggest Pre-mission concern; the Spartan who has been assigned to accompany them.
Well to start off with, even as a massive Halo geek, I was a little sceptical about anime halo- But why not give it a chance ... It is Halo . The Whole Legends series is done by various pro's in different sorts of anime. If you go on 'HALO WAYPOINT' and have a look around the Intel there is one piece of Intel: 'Halo Legends On Waypoint'. If you watch that you can see that each episode is in a distinctively different style from the rest. Whilst some resemble cartoons such as Dragonball Z, another looks like Pokémon. Aside from the cartoon ones, there also appear to be some full CG episodes as well. I advise watching that, as it tells you the whole aim behind 'Legends'.

Anyway, On to the matter at hand. The first episode- 'The Babysitter'- Already aware that it's release was today, I navigated to Halo : Waypoint, fired it up, clicked away until It started. It appears to buffer the whole episode, which may I say is just over 18 minutes long. As it started buffering my first worry was quality. Which after only a few seconds was gone due to the fact it used my whole screen, in crisp and what appeared to be HD quality...For an anime... So that was great, and also the fact that the buffering only took 10 seconds, and it didn't jitter or pause throughout.

Onto the story- As stated in the official brief description of the episode above, it starts off on a UNSC ship in the canteen observing a group of ODST's- One of whom you may recognise from the recent HALO3: ODST; Dutch. Clearly in his early days. We are then also introduced to the rest of the team, the most prominent character being a cocky ODST sniper- who now has to be backup for the new sniper on the mission- a Spartan. The ODST, isn't to happy about 'Babysitting' this new sniper.... And as the story goes on you begin to wonder who is babysitting who. The Story for the short is quite good and emphasises the tough relationship that is had between the ODST's and the Spartans in the Halo Universe. The Episode has a great end, and I Implore you all to watch it. I will spoil no more!

All in all, I was very happy with it, even as anime, the story was quite good, there was a some action, with a nice little surprise towards the end
I'm looking forward to the next episode!
