Sonic or Mario

Back in the day I was a definite Sega boy so would say Sonic but I drip-fed myself Mario and came to love them equally.

Have to admit that Super Mario World is the greatest platformer ever! Still play it on my Xbox via Snes9x.

Since going 3D Mario has been infinitely better that Sonic.

Mario all time.
First console - SNES - Super Mario World and ALLSTARS
Second console - N64 - Super Mario 64
Third Console - Mario Sunshine

Nothing beats Mario (except ZELDA) no matter how childish people may say.

I would have to agree with you on that point, Sonic hasn't crossed over to the 3D world like Mario has.
However I could never see the appeal of Mario but thats just me.

I don't think any true gamer would think it childish, I must admit that I have thought about getting a gamecube just to play Zelda.

I grew up playing Mario on my gameboy. You can't go wrong with good'ol Mr. Mario. Don't forget Luigi.

id have to go with both, just cant make up my mind!

I love them both - Sonic and Sonic 2 where amazing games. I also spent a ton of time with Mario on the SNES. Both equal in my book.

That an idea. Zelda is without a doubt the best franchise evr and will continue to be. If someone asked me the first thought when asked WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE GAMING MOMENT, I warp to the Sand Temple picking up the mirror shield. Dont know why but thats the magic of Zelda. £30 for a GAMECUBE and £20 for The Zelda games will be the best £50 you will ever spend (unless its on Creme eggs)

Would have to be Mario as I find the games in that franchise more appealing than Sonic games.

What if I don't like any of them? but since I HAD to chose I would say sonic.

You could have said that you love them both equally.

Seeing as if you don't love either of them at all then that option does actually apply.

Yeah but I don't like Mario games and I did find Sonic games a bit more enjoyable.

Ok come on get real people!! Mario is RUBBISH! Sega Owned the whole market with the megadrive and we all know who ruled that and is still going!! SONIC!

I grew up as a Mario kid, playing all the games from Super Mario 64 (N64) to Mario Golf (also on N64). Had never really played a Sonic game, until I bought Dreamcast second hand about 5 years ago, but still didn't think much of it.

My vote has, and always will go to the plump, Italian legend.

Interesting question...Mario for me though, just becuase of Mario 64. Arguably one of the best games ever made.

Yip Mario 64 is possibly the only true 3D adventure and that is compared with games today.

I'm still yet to get all 120 stars.

I got all 120 last Summer, and I'll be doing again this Summer as well.

Going to make it an annual thing - completing Mario 64 at least once every year.

Heh, someone recently beat that record! Completed it in 16 mins I think!

Super Mario world by a mile, just the thought of playing that for the first time really takes me back to better days.......ahhh lovely!

Meh, I have nothing to do in Summer, anyway.

Only so many hours a day can be spent playing football.

Both equal for me really. Both different kind of games as well and I never had a Nintendo.
