Important: All Teams

Please can 1 of the players from each 2v2 teams that has registered for the CM 2v2 comeptition please just simply re-list your interest below, all i need is your Team name.

Reason being is because so long has passed since the registration opened and then closed for the event the team feels that the event could fold on its self with the potential high numbers of no-shows.

We now need the teams that are already *registered to list thier Team Name to show they will still play in the competition and then the fixtures will be re-done and posted up. I will also accept if you re-list a mates team who you know will still be playing and have registered already.

This thread will be open until next Monday afternoon [19.11.07] ,then it will be closed and fixtures published by the early evening with all the teams that have re-listed their interest.

Sorry for the hassle and delay of this but it is the only way this competition would work as the way it is at the moment.

Also, just like to add onto the bottom of that i registered to play in this event when it first came to light and I'm looking to still take part in it. But if people don't like the idea of me running the event and playing in it (to which i completely understand) I will drop out or look for a replacement for my partner.

Feel free to have your say on this, i will do what ever the community decides on this.

NO WAY are the obsidian order back. omfggggg. i love you guyssssss. im gonna speak with gout, i may not play in this, coz i think its gone to ----, not being funny or nothing, but to have someone with 32 posts running this, its a tad ridiculous. yeah sure you have XL and matchbox experience, but its just ----nig over every other CM member with alot more committment who is just as capable.

I'm going to go with Jam on this and withdraw from the competition also.

I thought having the majority of teams being randoms and being referred by Cat was a bit much to start with, but it was bearable I suppose.

But now seeing Cat lose all involvement with the tournament, and having some Joe Nobody (no offence) running the tournament is 1 step too far.

It's now a community tournament without "community" in any sense.

Thats fair enough guys, all i can ever ask for is at least a chance.I will just get my head down and do what do best.

For those teams that are still taking part you now only have 4 and half days to re-list your interest so if any of your mates are un-aware of this can you let them know, I'm hoping we can still pull in 30+ teams to make the event fun but yet still comeptitive.

its nothing against you mate, im sure you'll do it perfectly, its just i dont feel its console monster anymore. and besides probs best for me not to play, with my lag and the time zones, would just be awkward hope you do well with it all loikeee.

For those dropping out due to some "no body" running it, it's sad to hear as you're missing out of some great prizes and miss out on mingling and gaming with new members to the forum, which is part of the main idea these tournaments are started. We cant survive on a handful for regulars here so need to appeal to new members and those guests to take the leap in signing up and getting involved. Give Spin a chance and im sure Cat will be able to vouch for his experience when she returns - after working with him in the first place at matchbox. Using someone with a similar background in arranging the same matches rules and arrangements as Cat does is the best move IMO rather than anyone else that can totally mix up rules, making new ones and generally messing about previous sign-ups who signed up on the current rules etc.


Anyway... if we have too smaller teams we'll open sign-ups again to fill any gaps without taking on too many.

You do realise once this tournament finishes none of the new people will stick around, they're here for the tournament, nothing else. Ok maybe you'll get a few who do but the majority won't. Also it doesn't matter if he's had experience else where, this is a CM tourney and he's done ---- all for CM.

As you can already see though Mant, you can't find 100 posts from the 30+ teams put together. This makes it apparent that none of them intend to be a part of the community. And as Joe said, even less people will stick around after the tournament as ended.

I'm in the process of making that 1v1 tournament anyway, it may not have prizes, but it should be some fun with some of the features we're planning on including.

I didn't enter the 2v2 competition to win the prizes, I wanted a good time with current members as the get-togethers are much less often than they once were, and having seen the ratio of regulars to non regulars, I might as well play team doubles in matchmaking.

dude give him a chance, after the tourny is over you can start critisizing people, until then i think that spin is the best person for the job. i've none him for a while now and he has run successfull events in the past and should do a great job here.

I don't think you should enter SpinDryer. No offense but It's just not right.

Also, are we still using the same gametype as in Cat's Fileshare?
