I haven't followed the HALO series.
Cpould someone please explain to me what the story is and what makes it a good game?

Well I'm really not to fussed on offline games tbh... just love the ability to play with mates and random stranger on live.

I've literally played Halo 2 since the day its come out, almost a year now!!

I'm told the story for Halo 3 will not carry on from the previous 2 for the campaign mode.

I can't wait for Halo 3 as well. If the multiplayer is anything like Halo 2 ( but better), I think I will be sold. I hope it has good replay value online....

they need more maps in multiplayer, they just get too repetitive after a while maybe a map maker would be cool, and also more vehicles in multiplayer. the campaign should be gd and my m8 sent me a pic of rumored screen for halo 3

I think halo2 overreached a lil for Bungie. thats why a lot of us felt that it kinda fell flat on its face. I am an admin over at www.halochat.net and i myself have even fallen from it. it will take a lot to get me back after the travisty that was Halo 2. Don't get me wrong, the graphics were nice, the two weapon fighting was nice and the energy sword was nice. but the plot fell through badly, and the ending was just what you would expect for a trailer, not a game. Playing as both the cov as well as the marines was an interesting switch, but not enough to keep me happy. Had they made it totally cov game, so as to get the cov side fully, and then made 3 the mix, i think i would have been happy. The multiplayer was fun, and i liked how they added a lot to the maps. But all in all, i was dissapointed. I hope they really come back with a explosion of gameplay and plot ideas.


I kinda had the feeling that bungie made this game specificly as a bridge to halo 3. it was put out there to tease us like a oversized trailer for the next installment.

halo 1 kicked ass. one of the best fps i have played. i remember 4 hour long ctf games with my friends on blood gulch. but halo 2 just got to the point to where it just pissed me off. way to many inconsistancies in gameplay and glitches. one being the effing shotgun the next the sword, and just random crap that pissed me off. i mid 20's on ranking then just quit because it wasnt fun playing anymore.

thatts the thing halo 2 was a good game on live but everyone cares about teir level just because you can see it, one of my friends boosted to a 28 with some friends on lower level accounts and i m quite fankly appalled he needed to do this to level up, im a 20 in slayer and dont play a lot but i dont reli care about my rank, he hasnt played a game of slayer since he got his 28. on rainbow 6 3 there is the elo but do people care so much as to cheat to get a high rank, no they just have fun. in halo 3 eliminated levels that you can see and bring back the rainbow 6 3 optimatch feature, match making sucks...

Matchmaking only sucks because it is made so unfair on us british... I have managed to get to a 32, but its all about getting host at this level and there after, which normally favours everyone one but the british as are internet connections are all so tiny compared to everyone else.

yea i mean the shotgun and sword favour americans because they always get host, have u been on halo 2 today because i know they are puting in the new playlist but i attempted to play 6 games and when the game was starting it paused on 1 second to go then it started and i lagged out... WTF!!!

nah there are levels but there are no leaderboards on the site for it, i finally managed to play 2 games this morning with out laggaing out and at the moment its looking good, i played team slayer on ivory tower with pistol as starting weapon and ctf classic on backwash with br and pistol as starting weapon, another cool thing bout the playlist is there is no motion sensor

just was reading in Game Informer this month that Bungie is paranoid. After the leak with halo 2 they are trying to step up security. they are even creating halo 3 with 2 different plots, this way not even the employees know what is going on. LOL.. sounds like bungie is planning something big.

Of course Halo2 is a bridge between halo 1 and 3...I see at a bit like the Matrix..or even Star Wars..

Lets take a look at the Matrix first: The original movie was frickin awesome! The whole concept was completely new and it blew everyone away! People were going absolutely nuts over romors of a sequel..and then it came out... The Matrix: Reloaded...was a pure lump of ****..I mean sure the SpecialFX were good, and that Highway Chase was nice, but the movie was just one big setup for the third installment... The Matrix: Revolutions...This movie was the biggest dissapointment since the GBA's lack of promised 32-bit-ness...The only good thing I can think of in this movie was the whole Dock-Breach scene (which took up like half the movie), which featured some AWESOME Special FX...but the ending was just pure garbage! What the hell is with the Architect and the Oracle!? There's just a massive, gaping hole right there in the ending...it's like knitting a jumper but forgetting to knit it all...you just get the threads and try to piece the jumper together only just figuring out that you dont have any knitting needles...or even basic knowledge of textiles...all you know was that the jumper was supposed to fit and be cumfortable.. Hopefully HALO will NOT, I repeat NOT end up like the Matrix..with a good start...**** middle and even ****ter ending!

Now it's time for Star Wars: No... I'm not talking about eps I - III...those where a fat lump of dog **** that looks like it got hit by a truck and has been lying on the side of the road for a week...I'm talking about the ORIGINAL trilogy from the 70s-80s, man eps IV - VI. Episode IV: A New Hope was a bloody great movie! It had it all...the characters, the story, everything! Truely one of my favourites... Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Another great movie! Had the battle of Frickin Hoth in it, and Yoda's Jedi Training for gods sake! What more could you want? Although..this movie had no real ending, no death star, nothing to really say "The End! Thanks for watching, we might see you later...". No...this movie said "The End...or is it? Stay tuned for more wacky adventures of the Rebels as they try to foil the evil Empire!", which brings me to the next and final installment.. Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Now THIS movie...this was absolute TOPS in my book! Jedi battle between Luke and Vader...pure pwn4ge there! Zoom-Zoom-Clash-Bwow-Zoom! The massive Tatooine battle in the Dune Sea with Jabba the Hut...oh god that movie was fantastic! But yeah...back to relevance with Halo..The first movie was great! The second movie was great, but never really had an ending...just left you hanging..but the the third and final movie was spectacular and truely finished up quite nicely! I REALLY hope that Halo follows the Star Wars Trend...that is before George Lucas started tampering with special FX and began filming the prequels...eugh...Hayden Christiansen: "I HATE THEM!" "Behold I am angry, note my furrowed eyebrows! furrowed because I am angry! Grrrrr!"

so yeah...just my two 5-cent-pieces..

This will be the first Halo I've properly played. I'll be getting it, oh yes, but I've never had a Halo in the past. Probably due to the fact that I didn't own an Xbox and my PC isn't really that good a machine for gaming.

Eagerly awaiting this, though. Should be top class.

This will be a must have game for all 360 owners. It will be worth the wait lets just hope they iron out all the flaws in previous titles though.

Well bungie's support throughout Halo 2 has been excellent. Can't wait.

Halo 3 they need to apply a punkbuster type thing the cheating kinda ruined it.
