Default LAN events

I was just wondering if anyone had been to Lan events before?

If so, what platform? Was it competitive or social? Did you win anything?

Or have you ever thought of going to a Lan before? How come you never went?

---------------------

I have been to three Lan events so far, twice to Matchbox360 XL in Birmingham and once to i28 in Newbury as spectator.

The atmosphere on all of them just can't be beaten and anyone who wasn't too sure if they want to attend one should really do it, as the experience is great!

Obviously I can imagine going there, not playing anything and not knowing anyone wouldn't be too great, but I met a few people there that I had previously met at XL [MB360 Lan] and it was good catching up with them. Plus it lasted a few days and people stayed there over night.

Ive been to a Pro Ev tourny which was held in Edinburgh Never entered but it was a good laugh to watch!

The guy (or should i say 10 year old boy) who won had his whole family supporting him, cheering him on as he won. People wanted to beat him so bad it was hillarious

I imagine the atmosphere to be easily beatable, in all honesty.

Think i'm off to a PES Rankings event soon. A couple of my mates went to the one in Bolton on Sunday, both got to the last 32, and i'm betterer than them.

I used to play Americas Army professionally and visited a lot of LAN Events to compete in tournaments and such.

I Series is taking place in a couple of days in Newbury,England. been there a few times its got an amazing atmosphere, played with Jonathan 'Fatal1ty' Wendell who was just amazing.

Def go to the I Series when they have the WCG (World Cyber Games) taking place.

Never been a huge fans of these LAN events. I personally would rather just get a few mates, have a few drinks and play a couple games than travel across the country to play people I've never met and get my --- handed to me on a plate.

Both of the events were in the Toute Suite in the NEC in Birmingham.

Video of the first event [oct last year], don't listen to the most boring voice over ever! [can anyone spot me being really pissed off? lol]

There is a BYOX360 Lan near Reading/Newbury next weekend. I'm quite tempted of going if I can find some people. http://www.xbox360lan.co.uk/

There's nothing to be ashamed of.
