Are you a Manual or Automatic Racer?

With some quality racing games on the horizon on all platforms, how do you prefer to play?

Do you go for automatic and let the console get you to the top speed as quick as possible?

Or do you select Manual gears to give you the ability to control your speed correctly and gain those extra few seconds per lap?

Sadly I'm an Automatic noob, but I'm really putting an effort into going Manual.

Takes a lot of getting used to.

because i suck at driving games.
only one i can play is Forza because of the braking lines haha

Automatic for Me, mainly because I find it's one less thing to worry about and I haven't drove a Manual since I started driving so I doubt I'd be any good anyway...lol

But yea Newbie Automatic for me :'(

Automatic for me too. However if I think that my revs are too low for the speed I'm doing (after a crash or spin etc) then I often do change down manually to get back upto maximum speed asap.

yeah id rather play manual but it just frres off on a controler if i had the racing wheel i would do it

Just looks like the Flappy Paddles that you get on F1 cars etc

Manual - always - well bar Formula 1..but always have done since the days it came in circa Ridge Racer for PS1..then always of GT, PGR's etc etc.

really cant be bothered changing gears by myself like
i did try manual a few tiems on PGR
and if im feeling really hardcore on forza 2 i mgiht do the same
but mainly jut stick to automatic
much easier

Automatic as it's still fun to play the game with and is much easier and the lasier option. Did Manual a few times on PGR3 but only for the achievement.

I am a Automatic Racer just to hard to drive good when changeing Gears up and down. I would only try manual if i had a Steering wheel set up with a Gear Stick.
