... I love the console but why did they make it so damned ugly?

I would have liked it to look just like a dvd player or something along those lines so it could have been easily stacked and didn't stic out too much in my setup.

What do you guys think of the design?

The PS3 is the sechsiest around, and compliments pretty much every TV on the market wonderfully. The Wii and the 360 kinda stick out.

The Wii is more sexy than the PS3. If they would've made the PS3 flat it would look good.

It looks like a breadbin or a George Foreman grill.

Don't ask why they have some chink, it should be George himself.

Its the Playstation creator - Mr Ken Kutaragi.

Well, I mean, you did want to write for this website, you know, one would expect someone who takes gaming seriously enough to write about to know who the creator of PS3 is.

Your right, I did want to write for the website, which I briefly did.

Oh and I wrote Xbox 360 pieces. Not PS3.

Ps3 is ugly IMO.

I didn't say you were a fanboy. I didn't say anyone was a fanboy. I just stated that I'm not.

It is seriously ugly, such a horrible shaped monstrosity....I've said it ever since having mine but I (we) seem to be in the minority.

At least the quietness of it kinda makes up for the ugliness.

I'm glad its not just me then because everytime I try and clean my PS3 theres bloody dust particles all over it in a matter of minutes again. I also would have liked the PS3's design to be a bit more flatter too but it does fit in with my set up nicely though.

Well sorry pal (and everyone that thinks its ugly) but i must be the odd one out as i quite like the design of it, but i hate how shiney it is...but its transparent to make it less heavy to the eye apparently...so its creater said.

But it is a dust magnet - due to the large fans that suck in the air to keep it cool and quite..so ask yourself....a slightly queer shape to allow massive air flow throughout the system..or a curved rectangle that has had and continues to have massive problems.

Remember nothing japanese breaks lol

Yep...i remember getting a ps2 and sitting it next to my Dreamcast - it looked ----e but i grew to like it but the ps2 slim line is sexy..but can a smaller model be made as this new HD capable machines have to be larger than before to accommodate fans and coolers etc, the Wii is smaller because it's lack of HD capablilties and hence why alot say it is not 'next gen'.

What makes me laugh (and this is from close friends aswell) when i got an Xbox - there were comments made like ''its ----in ugly'' or 'look and the shape and size'' -these were from ps fanboys who i can say are now 360 fanboys lol - the circle will once again go around and im sure we will hear ''first to market doesn't always win''

Use cleaning fluids as opposed to dry-wiping. Just dusting something creates static electricity which attracts dust. If you use Mr. Sheen or something it'll keep the dust away for longer.

And Ken Kutagari was a very important figure in the gaming industry. Knowing who he is is essential if you want to do even amateur games journalism. You may as well be saying "Miyamoto? Why would I know who that loser is if I'm not a Nintendo fan-boy? GOSH!"

I know what you mean, but im sure when the PS2 came out people would of thought the same thing

I'm pretty sure its the type of plastic which attracts the dust. The Wii gets incredibly dusty as well but you don't notice it because it's white. The 360 doesn't get very dusty because its not a smooth plastic.

Gutted for you guys that have dusted your PS3 though. Put it up to the light and check out the spider scratches. Only way to get them out will be to polish it.

Mine has a few marks on the power source and eject button....which was due to me somehow...maybe a different type of cloth used..---- knows but everywhere else is fine. I use a fine duster that attaches to a stick -im not a women so i dont know the proper name and that is fine - removes all static/dust etc - but i wouldn't say mine gets too bad..maybe its where you place them and mine is always vertical

But i wouldn't worry to much ps3 users - there are rumours that skins/faceplates will become available or to replace as the console front can be easily detached.

I use the cloth that I use to clean my HDtv screen and its a similar story with the tv dust wise. Tried the old Mr Sheen before and it does nothing really apart from leaving the just polished scent. The best option is trying to not look at the dust as it only winds me up even more (stupid I know).
