I'm special ;)

Some points so far:

+ Shield bubble is very good, effect of it is quality
+ Plays well, smooth when tons going on at once, no frame loss or stuttering
+ Levels are solid not seen any glitches or flickering polygons/textures, though graphically it isn't jaw dropping IMO. Still has that old Halo low polygon, angular feel to it.
+ Everything that you've read about it alrleady is pretty much spot
+ Water's very nice, lapping ripples of water
+ Spartan Laser's sweet, when you can hit someone with it!
- Very annoying when your hit by one, very Quake 3 rail-gun'esk.
- I'm crap at it, too many good players out there :(
+ Mongoose is very nimble but can be killed on it very easy and quickly.
+ Lobby is very simple and well laid out. Alot of emphasis on recording and viewing your recorded matches.
+ Menu has just three options Play Game, Videos (your recorded vids), Quit to Dashboard. There is also Play button that sends you to player profile and Y sends you to Friends where you can exchange videos and view there own player profile (rank and other details).
+ Menu plays out to the sound of the same Halo3 trailer music (one when his looking over the canyon). A ice-blue in colour menu video plays in the background featuring a fly through of an outdoor snow/forest level.

OMG lol, I just checked b.net, and signed in, I had a PM with a beta code for the "friends and family" thing. w00t, I could've played it earlier if I knew, I'm going to download it now.

Edit: Right, I'm 52% complete now (total download is 911mb) and would like to point out that if you are a regular b.net user and you have an account check your pm's, because I never knew about it earlier, it wasn't until it was mentioned in the latest update that I thought I'd best sign in and check.

Edit x2: Right, there's some things that I've noticed after my first couple of matches:

Grenades seem a little heavier
BR still Rapes
There's a lot less auto aim
Grenade bouncing works with/with out host
Latency is still a -----
Team Slayer's still the most popular gametype
I've got to practice my sniping again :s
Save Film features pretty good, but I'm a bit dissapointed because you can't save short montage-style clips, you have to save the entire match

lolol, I'm not sure how I filled the criteria set out by Bungie, but apparently it was enough to get me into the 40,000 group, and then out of those 10,000 was given away.

If you won a code from the 360 monster competition or the many other ways (rule of 3 etc) then it doesn't start for you until the 16th, that is when you'll have your code I suppose, as it stops you downloading the beta early. I got it through a friends and family thing, which wasn't quite a competition, it was a selective process Bungie made and they had 40,000 people total that had fit the criteria they had in mind, out of these, 10,000 people were awarded the code which gives you a 5 day head start.

Well, that's how I tried to understand it when I read it on b.net.

As long as the gameplay in the halo 3 beta is simular to halo 2 i shouldnt have any problems having some good matches. Is anyone willing to join me in a group so we head into matchmaking when its out on wednesday?

One thing I forgot to mention is that you can play via split screen with the 2nd player signed into their own Live account to boost their Halo 3 ranking while they play or they can sign into a guest account for their name appears like for example MantUK(1). Only have two pads so im not sure if 3 or 4 player is possible.

If you can use two pads I don't see why they wouldn't incorporate 4 pads into the Beta. It can't be that much more hard work, if any.
