Microsoft fixing some consoles for free?

Did i read correctly once that if a console was made within a certain time frame and it buggers up microsoft will fix it for free?

They said that they would fix launch consoles for free in some regions.

They weren't going to fix my launch console for free...and there's a few people I know who had launch consoles go faulty and MS wanted them to pay too, yet there are some people who got theirs repaired/replaced for free.

It's a lottery really.

whell if its within 12 months since you bought it you get it repaired or replaced for free its EU law i simply lied about when i bought mine to get mine repaired for free
