Which will win the next-gen war? Which is the best system? Which is the most fun system? etc etc.

Now that we have gone multiplatform; time for some fanboy war.

Sales wise I think the Wii will kick ass over the others. The PS3 is priced too high to be mainstream at present. Xbox 360 will be the console of choice for many people, mainly due to Xbox Live and a quality catalogue of games out at present and many AAA titles in the works.

I honestly don't think PS3 will sell well. The console it's self is high priced. The games are quite high too.
For me the 360, i think, will win. It's in the affordable price margin, it has some quality titles, there's xbox live which is the best for online play in my opinion.

To me the Wii just doesn't seem "next gen" enough to win. I've seen games programs where they have to compare the graphics and sound to the PS2 and Gamecube. yes it is fun and yes it is innovative, but in my opinion it's not that big a leap forward.
Ok it may win in sales due to its low price and accessability by everyone, but in terms of graphics, gameplay, sound etc the 360 wins it with the PS3 a close second

i was wondering how long it would take for this kind of thing to pop up! lol. im in agreement with the above, mostly about the Wii not feeling 'next gen', i have hours of fun playing on my neigbours console, but do get bored of it after a while. i wouldn't buy one even for that price as i feel it is more of a novelty. when it comes to 360 and PS3 i think at the moment it will be 360 but in the coming years it will be a lot closer between the two. its easy to turn fanboy and dis the PS3 with its ---- controller and massive size, but then turn it around and the 360 has the massively massive power block.

the games will be the deciders in the end.

i hope the wii wins, nintendo is overdue for some credit. plus, that means less -------s on xbox live. and when it comes to the ps3, i can see it gaining some steam, if they have a price drop, or come out with some decent games.

Well I haven't experienced anything on my PS3 so far to warrant it coming above the 360..whether this changes over time well we'll have to wait and see.

Wii...hmm dunno...may get one one day seeing as the Wiinja is out but I just see it as a short term gimmick, so I'll probably get bored of it quite quickly.

yeah the 360 wins for me games wise its unmatched and not going to be matched in quality in games. ps3 has its charms but not the games

The only place were the ps3 out matchs the 360 is the live home cause its a actual apartment that you can customize with plasmas showing trailers, arcade machines with demos etc.

Need i say more? Well, i probably do, but if you also add the 360's amazing online service into the equation, I see the 360 as a long term winner.

I don't how the PS3 outmatches the 360 with Home....when it isn't even out. Even when it's out what is it outmatching exactly? All Home is is a 3D interface for PSN...I for one will be using the 2D interface as Home itself looks aimed at teens and people who want to pretend to have a life and friends. Like Raised said....I just want to blow ---- up...doing that within seconds by launching from a menu sounds much better than wandering round like a tit, chatting to losers on a walk to find a room.

Its tough this the 360 is a brilliant machine and has great support from developers this time around aswell. The PS3 is a far better machine in terms of design and build quality - but at the moment it lacks titles and most so far have been 360 ports - some better the rest worst, but there are some cracking games in the pipeline and it will be the case of ps3 ports to the 360 and vice versa for a lot of multi-platform. I'll use VT3 for example - looks wise PS3 gameplay will have to be the 360 as it has online, but the recent interviews with Dan Houser (Rockstar) regarding 360 and its lack of next gen DVD format (not to mention the HDD worry aswell) is pushing Rockstar very very far - i think there maybe a lot of extra features for the PS3 version. DLC will be the same for both at present.

Theres no doubt Xbox live blows away anything Sony has to offer now and at a future date prob's but i sold my last 360 to spend less time playing games which im doing. At the moment i am enjoying my ps3 with games like VT3, VF5 and Oblivion - it is that bit better than the 360 version and i am enjoying it more or should i say appreciate it more, what with taking my time and not rushing threw to finish the fighter guilds before anyone on my FL - infact this time ive pissed farted about quite a bit.

The Wii is a fun console in my eyes and one for parties...i dont think it will hit the heights of the 360 nor PS3.

Who will win - who knows too early to say - but i have to disagree with Josh regarding the PS3 '---- pad' - its only a lighter, rumble free (for now) with a good motion sensor if you use it (i dont much) Dual Shock which is the best pad ever tracing its roots back to the original ps pad - which blew away anything i had in my hands at 15/16 year old - even my girfriend's at the time 36C's

A core 360 is cheaper than a Wii.

For me, i think there is room for all 3 in the market. Wii will appeal to some that the other 2 dont.
In the near future the 360 will do well, with halo 3 and mass effect coming out, but give it a year or two and the PS3 will come into its own, be a bit cheaper and that will be the console to have.

The 360 will win everywhere but Japan. The Wii's sales will eventually taper off, and then nosedive, everywhere but Japan.

I think Blaze is spot on... Order wise I think it'll go 360, PS3 then Wii. Pretty sure Wii software sales will be the worst by quite a long way.

360 FTW....i mean seriously in my age group (14) i dont see many kids wandering around with £425 for spending money....birthdays? nope christmas? get out. £425 is above what the average parent is willing to spend on their child for one present. And that's just the kids market. But IMO the 360s price will be the PS3's undoing....

Personally I'm not a fan of these debates. Ultimately, all three consoles have advantages and flaws, and ultimately all three will provide you with countless hours of entertainment. It kinda boils down loosely to this:

XBOX 360
-The single most-impressive online service I have ever seen. A lot of PC owners argue that is should be free, but once you see what LIVE provides the price is entirely justifiable, and in my eyes could afford to cost more easily.
-Largest library of quality games currently.
-Horrendous build quality, prone to overheating and breaking. The hardware performs well, but only if it is working. I had to replace my 'box after only two days of ownership, and I know how to take could care of electronics.

The PS3
-Easily the sechsiest of the three - it will look nice next to any TV.
-Blu Ray, which despite negative press is a huge bonus. Remember people slamming the PS2 initially for including the "pricey and useless" DVD player? Yeah.
-MUCH better build quality than the 360.
-Apart from Virtua Fighter 5, which is coming to the 360 anyway, there isn't a lot of reason to actually own one games-wise right now (in my opinion! While Resistance looks good, it doesn't look like anything new or "omg must have"). The first-party line up on the 360 is currently larger too, and looks to be that way for a long time.

Wii
-If you measure 'having fun' by how good a time you can have quickly with friends or on you own, Wii is clearly heads and shoulders above the competition. Gears Of War and the like are more intense, rewarding games, but there is a lot less immediate enjoyment there. Think of it as the Wii being the film 'Zoolander', and the PS3/360 being 'Shawshank Redemption'. One is more enjoyable, the other is arguably artistically greater.
-Recognisable and genuinely-quality Nintendo franchise power. I am yet to play a bad Mario or Zelda game, for example.
-Horrendous online plan (friend codes) and a lack of graphical power compared to the 360 or PS3. Wii games are being compared to the PS2, yes, but that's only because the developers are lazy - theoretically the Wii can produce more stunning results than the original XBOX, which was no slouch in the graphics department anyway.

I own a 360 and a Wii, and intend to get a PS3 once a couple more games I want are out. Seeing people bicker about which console is better just makes me laugh and/or cry. When I have all three and enjoy all three, I'll just be laughing.

thats how i settled this argument last time round, but there is no way im going to get the wii or the ps3 till they are at the same level, game wise and price wise, as the 360
