Playstation Eye Webcam Announced/Video Trailer

A little late in reporting this but here it is.

Sony has announced the EyeToy for PS3, called the PlayStation Eye. It comes with an array of four microphones, two zoom levels, and capture rate as high as 120fps, the PlayStation Eye promises to deliver unprecedented cam-enhanced gameplay, although the VGA video resolution will probably nonetheless be a disappointment to some.

I don't think I'll bother with this since I have the original PS2 Eyetoy and that works fine.

4 mics? 120fps? Does it really need all that? Meh, if it aint broken dont fix it, if the old eyetoy works fine, use that.

Its for the card game that's coming out. So I guess it needs detail to read the cards. Just like XBL does, I wouldn't expect great quality video chats. Really wish they would up it a bit.

No, because you dont shout at a camera for singstar. You use a real microphone.

Totemball was atrocious, I hate the way MS don't bother with ----, like the Vison cam, prime example, where the ---- is theire equivelant to eyetoy Play
