Game Vs UbiSoft= No Oblivion for PS3

I was interested in buying Oblivion for the ps3 (as i over saved my 360 save therefore didnt see much after finishing the story)- anywho's it would have been nice to catch up and to play the NOTN exp pack aswell

So i went to my local GAME as i had £45 in reward points which i thought i would use...then when i got to GAME it wasnt on the shelve so i asked and was told that for the foreseeable future GAME arent selling Oblivion because they would like to sell it at £39.99 to fit along side most PS3 games (and the fact its only £30 instore for the 360)..anyways UbiSoft have said they must sell it at £49.99..top and bottom of it they arent selling it. Thats also the reason they have stopped selling SCDA aswell for PS3

But to be honest this is a good move on GAME's part..you can get Oblivion for £39.99 in Argos, Tesco's etc so why should they lose out? Infact you can trade any ps3 game in at Blockbuster and get it for a tenner.

Im all for cheaper games and even though GAME are losing out i can see their point.

This is why it has been delayed since launch for PAL - UbiSoft are publishing it and not 2K...shame as Ubisoft are good.

That would appear so!..you can get it at a superstore chain called Argos for £39.99 and £42.97 at my local Asda (Walmart) and others cheaper- but they are telling GAME they want them to retail it at £49.99 - which EA and SEGA games are priced at for PS3, others only rrp £39.99. I noticed the other main high street gamestore Gamestation (EB Group) are selling it for £49.99. I got my copy from Blockbuster for £9.99, by trading in any PS3 game - by by Genji

Then it sounds to me like there is another reason for this, and the employee who told you it's the price thing was just misinformed.

I was looking at picking up Oblivion again as I've missed it. Is it just as good on the PS3 Lenseleven? Its cheaper for the 360 though at about £18 on Play so I'm not too sure which console to get it for. At least I know if I get it for the PS3 I'll be left alone (don't have a big FL currently) as I used to get loads of messages off people when playing via XBL. Plus theres the Knights Of The Nine on it and I haven't played that.

I'd say just turning the 360s notifications off is a lot easier than paying extra for the PS3 version.

Its exactly the same as the 360 version - might look that little bit better but thats because i play on a newer TV. It does contain the NOTN exp pack and thats why i bought it as i screwed up my 360 save i really at the time didnt want to play it through again. Oh and by the way it installs 4.5GB onto your HDD automatically which is a great shame just to speed up loading times but does it do it?...puts me down to 40GB what with all the extra dl's ive done and that.

Yep agree theres no point in buying the ps3 version if you have a 360 as its cheaper to get it that way - although you could get it for £10 if you did the deal with Blockbuster like i did.

Also Blaze, yep you are right there prob is something more with Ubisoft vs GAME, but meh GAME are a good store and if they fall out with people then you look elsewhere. Maybe when Raide comes on he maybe to shed somelight on it.

Cheers for the input, that 4.5 GB save has definitely put me off! 360 it will be then (Y).
