Gamepro have this to offer (http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=108249) - so it would seem that it is going to be released though the playstation store and on disc aswell now (again!)
If you read it does state that it may be the case if you but it from the store you can upgrade it as you go along, or where you see fit - is this a good or bad thing.
Personally i would buy it on disc as i like to have something to show for my hard earned cash - but either way it seems as if downloading next gen games starts soon with the ps3

This is another attempt to minimise the pre-owned market. Which is good thing in my book so long as the original download is cheaper than the physical product. Should have shorter load times as well.

That's the thing will it be? - i mean it should be alot cheaper but then again we know Sony and MS like to charge.
The benefits as you say are that it will load quicker - and im sure you are aware that you can actually copy so much of a game (like VF5 for instance) already to the HDD to speed up load times - its like having the arcade in your room(Y)

LOL - you obviously havent played a VF5 arcade machine then. There are some huge differences between the PS3 and Arcade Machine.

lol - well we can dream but the game isnt to different from the arcade as the 'Lindberg' board isnt that technically advanced

Of course when it comes to the 360 - it will be better :p

It was more of the online aspects that I was pointing out.
VF5 machines can connect to a central network of arcades in Japan, where players in each arcade can fight each other by rank or in Tournaments. These fights can then be broadcast live on any connected VF5 machine not in use.
The store the player data on a smart card so when you visit the arcade, you pop your card in and it shows your stats, ranks, head to head results etc.

Yep its a good idea that but here in the UK (well my way anyhow) arcades arent 1% as popular as those in Japan. It seems very similar to the Quest mode within the game as that's based on well known arcade places in Japan.
Is it a downside that VF5 has no online play?....yes and no in my views. Of course MJ has a ps3 now and is a VF fan so im sure he'd have bought it if that was the case....yet single player is still cracking but apparently the reason why no online mode was created was that the producer (dont think it was Yu Suzuki himself) doesnt like online play -who knows? And will it be the same for the 360 version? i read somewhere (sorry carnt find where it was - deleted my browser history:p ) and the rumour was online leaderboards only. Either way it looks and plays fooking great on the ps3 so 360 owners are in for a treat
