Just thought i would let everyone know that the system update ver 1.70 has just been uploaded to the ps3 for people to dl at their pleasure.

The details of what it is can be found here (http://kotaku.com/gaming/ps3/ps3-170-firmware-out-adds-downloadable-psone-game-support-253531.php/)

The PLAYSTATION 3 firmware has been updated to version 1.70 and includes a handful of changes, mostly related to PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games. Here is the full changelog embedded in the installation process.

* You can now download PlayStation format software from the PlayStation Store and play it on the PS3 system.
* You can now use saved data for PlayStation format software on the PSP system.
* You can now use the vibration function of accessories that are for use with PlayStation and PlayStation 2 format software.

The PlayStation Store still lists the currently available PSone Classics for the PSP only. Tomorrow will see the weekly update to the PlayStation Store, however, so we won't be surprised when PS3 support is added for these downloadable titles.

I've done a quick look around for any other updates in the Cross Media Bar but so far nothing noticeable has caught my eye. Let us know if you spot anything.

This must also mean that the UK (PAL regions) shall be seeing PSone games on the store soon and without the need to use the psp

The PlayStation 3 firmware has updated to 1.7, which purportedly allows you to play your downloaded PS One titles on the console itself. Here's what else got updated:

* Your PSOne and PS2 controllers and accessories will now rumble.
* You can now use PSOne save files from your PSP on the PS3.

The PSP firmware also received an upgrade to 3.4. Unfortunately, we are having serious issues with playing PS One games that are already saved on our PSP -- namely, it's not working at all-- but the console is properly detecting our PSP save files. Our fanboy brethren are also experiencing similar issues. Will the PS Store update and offer users compatible files?

Oh that's a -----. Anyone else use PS1 games on there PSP and having problems?

Well i dont use my psp at all - and dont have any psone games dl'd to it aswell so wont effect me....but this is for the psp firmware 3.40 update and not a ps3 one.(Y)

What i have noticed is that is that in my games directory - they are marked which system they are designed/used for like Tekken DR has a little PS3 bar next to it - so this must mean that psone games are coming to the PAL playstation store soon. They have been uploading new items on a friday so maybe tomorrow we may see Wipeout, Destruction Derby etc

Since update 1.70, I can no longer play disc one of MGS3 Subsistence.

That's the actual game. I bought it after seeing it was fully compatible on the OFFICIAL list. Now I can't play what I payed £30 for.

Sony.... you disgust me.
