I normally time my break on Saturdays to go watch it in the Staff Canteen.

Yeah, i was glad to see him get in the top10 stand up comedians the other week on Channel4.

I love his observations like when he ripped vanessa Feltz last week

Pfft, Connolly is amazing.

Personally there are a few comedians that I like better, but Billy Connolly is one of very few who makes people laugh wherever he goes. Easily the most successful comedian worldwide, possibly ever.

He is the most unfunny person, i've ever had to sit through.
I don't see how anyone finds him funny, at all.

I'll second you Afro, every stand up I have ever watched of his has had my laughing my ass of.
Not so certain he should of recieved first place though, but defo somewhere within the top 5

Never been a fan of Harry Hill to be honest so I never watch it.

But regarding the funniest comedian, I'm suprised Lee Evans wasn't any higher. He is awesome! Funniest bloke ever if I had my choice (Y)

I agree Jimmy Carr is very funny. Gotta love the dry humour, but Lee Evans and his proactive routine beats him hands down in my opinion. But they are totally different comedians, comparing them would be like comparing chalk and cheese :p

yeah it is quite good, it used to be quite ---- to start with then its got better, who wouldve thought he used to be a doctor lol

I think he's very funny. Comedians nowadays seem to fit into either the dry, sardonic humour category (Jack Dee, Jimmy Carr, etc), or the just plain random (Harry Hill, Bill Bailey), but Connolly seems to mix the two of them, and very well.

There's no script to his acts either. Guys like Robin Williams can be hilarious, but it's pretty obvious that he's had the whole performance completely mapped out well in advance. Connolly innovates, and brilliantly too.

He probably loses a lot of marks for the buckets filled with sweat that he leaves after every performance. :p

Bill Bailey is funny as hell, but without he's musical bits i doubt he'd be as funny as he is.

I've been trying to find different stand up comedians and thanks to The Daily Show with John Stewart(dunno if anyones watched that but it's brillaint) I decided to watch some stuff by Lewis Black and Demetri Martin and they're brilliant.
Another stand up to watch is Mark Watson. He's just so funny!
