Now that the Folding@Home project has come to the PS3, I have started a PS3 Forums team. For those wondering what F@H is, and what impact it has, please click HERE (http://folding.stanford.edu/)and HERE (http://folding.stanford.edu/FAQ-diseases.html). For some VIDEO CLIPS of the F@H application in action on the PS3, please click HERE (http://ps3mods.blogspot.com/2007/03/ps3-foldinghome-with-firmware-16.html) and HERE (http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/10122).
Team Stat: Will be updated in time
In this thread, people can discuss how they are doing individually, and I'll provide updates on how the team as a whole is doing over time. Also, I'll put up in this thread everyone's ID that is a part of the team. Send me a PM or indicate in this thread if you want to be a part of the team, and I'll place your name in the thread list.
Any client program can contribute to the statistics for this team by putting the number '61536' in the team field. Your stats will NOT be attributed to the team by just signing up here. You MUST put in this number in order to get your stats tracked. In essence, then, the purpose of signing up here is so that we have an idea of what members of the forums are actually contributing. I repeat, signing up here but not putting in the number is essentially useless.
Here is a bit more detail on how to enter the number to become a part of the team (Thanks to konangrit for this instructions):
Whilst running the program press triangle to bring up the options, then click on "Identity", click "Join an existing team" then type in "61536". In the Identity option you should also select "Change Donor Name" and change it from PS3 to what you want to be known as.
The Monsters Folding@Home Team Page for stats can be found here:
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=teampage&teamnum=61536
For those of you that are more ambitious, you can sign up your computer right now by downloading the application for your computer by clicking HERE (http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html). When you first run the the program, it will ask you for your team number and your username. Choose a username (You can't use spaces in your username, just underscores "_"), and then enter 61536 in the box where it asks for team number. I imagine that a similar set-up will be used for the PS3.
If your username for F@H is different than your monster ID, please send me a PM, and I will place it in brackets next to your monster ID in the list below. In other words, I do not need your PSN ID. Instead, what I need is your F@H name ONLY if it is different from your monster ID. This way, people can track you on our F@H team site.
