i think 70 quid is a bit much just for an extra dvd, so ill probably go with the limited edition rather than the legendary!

It's not just a extra dvd though is it?
Defo Legendary for the helmet

I think the spartan helmet looks cool but I'll just opt for the standard edition of the game myself. I never really go for limited editions and all that jazz. Plus the fact that I will have to fight the missus to get on the 360 when Halo 3 does eventually come out (so a game of disc toss could be on the cards).

If I was going to get it I would get the bare bones version, I would I want to pay 70 bucks to look at some guys helmit...(ok, I'm sorry:)). £70 quid is waaaaay to much for a game I think, but good on Bungie, exploiting the hardcore Halo fanboys.
I dont get it... it's not exploiting.
Also people keep saying £70 is too much for a game. It's not just a game your getting for £70.
There are loads of other examples I can give. But when it comes down to it it's not really expensive. Your buying a game, a extra dvd full of stuff and a nice collectors case thing. People who are going to buy the Legendary edition are not going to say "I bought it because it's Halo 3". Their going to say they bought it for the cool mini helmet thing.
If you don't want the legendary edition that's fair enough. But don't say it's too much money. For £30 more your getting your moneys worth.

Matter of opinion I guess, and depends if you are in to all of that other collectable stuff, which I am not, So for me, £70 is a lot to pay for a game.
Once again your saying £70 is a lot for game. That's why you are given the choice. It is a matter of opinion and if you said you don't need the helmet/extra disc then that would be a pretty good reason.

Totally agree(Y)
Tbf, I don't really want to argue with you, especially about I game I am not even getting, we obviously have contrasting opinions on the matter and I respect that(Y)

I dont think £70 is bad for a special ed - it's only £20 more than say the GoW ed.
I paid more for N64 games - anyone remember Shadowman and the RAM upgrade price for the N64!!!
As Toby Notasheymoto says - you are given the choice

It's not a difference of opinion. I'm not getting it either because I don't want the helmet..
Also I'm not arguing with you. It's a discussion.
You say "£70 is a lot for a game".
I believe what you should say is:
"£70 is a lot for a game, a extra disc and a helmet."
THEN it would be a difference of opinion as I would come back saying well I don't think it is.. you're getting your moneys worth etc etc.

I'm going to buy the Legendary Edition. I'm a collector of any game I truly like (such as Elder Scrolls, Halo, Perfect Dark, Pro Evolution Soccer, Metroid Prime, Legend of Zelda). I don't mind paying for something that I don't pay for anyway (student grant money is great). And plus, the Halo franchise is just going to get bigger and bigger; so, it's always going to be wise to pick up a highly collectable edition of 'Halo 3'.

Alright then, For me, what is included in the £70 package doesn't justify paying £30 more than the base game, as I wouldn't use it that much, so I personally wouldn't be getting my moneys worth, although some people will have becuase they would use everything that is included.
If that makes sense...
Also a little, well, a lot of topic but Tob3z, how do you get you sig to change to a different picture everytime I load a page?
Makes perfect sense :)
I go to the user CP and change it every 2 minutes...lol
I have a PHP script which sits between the forums and images. Runs on my web host.

Haha, ah ok, it is a cool effect I think, anyway I could be able to do it?
If you have dedicated webhost space.

I doubt it'll even be that collectable. There will probably be a lot of Legendary Eds produced meaning a lot of people will have it.
Now if they were only selling 100 Legendary Eds, then I'd buy it for a collectable.

Erm, take a look at the special edition of '2001: A Space Odyssey':

That was mass-produced, too. So, no, you're not right in your argument that mass-produced products doesn't equate to collectibilty. It all depends on the product and how much will be available when it's stops being produced. But, don't let me convince you. ;)
I'm just saying what in my opinion I believe is a collectable, for me to actually purchase it. Your reply is valid also.
