Getting a new xbox

My brother has come home for five weeks and has taken his xbox (the one i use) back to his.

This is obviously annoying for me coz i'm without one for 5 weeks.

I have the money to buy my own and i thought i might aswell do it.

My question is, if i do buy my own, can i move my gamertag to it?
And can i move my gamesaves to it?

I dont want to buy it and have to start from scratch.

not to sure about gamesaves but you can retrieve your xbox gamertag so i persume you will just do the same

You will need a memory card to transfer your save games. I bought another 360 recently and transferred my profile to the new console, the game saves dont transfer though :(

Ahhh right, games saves might transfer on some games but not others.

as long as the profile can go onto two xboxs thats fine. annoying that the arcade games dont transfer. Your gamertag should say which games youve downloaded and should let you download them again

coz his stuff is on there too. Ill do it when he goes away again, if i can port his profile onto the new one. Thats a good idea actually coz ive paid for all 4 arcade games on there

You can re-download and play the Arcade games again on the new machine so long as your profile is loaded.

I have done it gamesaves will move but stuff like equipment templates on rainbow wont but its ok you keep your rank you just need to re-suit the dude and your set, also all arcade games dload you wont have to pay. (Y)

thanks for the info, im definately getting it now as it seems i can re-download the arcade games (good) keep my gamertag (very good) and kepp some save games (not bad). Got the day off wednesday so i can go get a boots advantage card and buy it from their online store

I went to do this today and the 10% code is no longer working. :( I asked on HotUKDeals if anyone knows of a 10% code that is working for boots, but no reply's yet.
