"At some point we're going to focus less on it," he said. "When you get to the end of this year there will be a reduced focus on backwards compatibility. There are so many 360 games out there. I don't know if it's important anymore."

Anyone here use their 360 regularly to play original Xbox Games?
Was it an important selling point when you bought your 360?

To a degree it's not important but I personally don't think you can leave it unresolved either.

I think they should at least secure the most popular titles and make sure they have a bigger percentage of BC Games than Playstation 3 have for European Consumers.

Although it's not a big deal for people who have Xbox 360's it's a bigger push for those who are considering "upgrading" and if you have a sitation where most of their games aren't BC then they will realise they still have to keep their Xbox out in order to play them.

So that has a negative effect on there willingness to "upgrade", it's a similar situation to what my Brother is facing with his PS2. He is aware of the problems for Europeans and BC Games, so he's putting it off until there is either sorted out or until there is a good few games he wants on the PS3.

I don't really play xbox games on my 360. I kept my original Xbox so if i ever feel like playing an xbox game i play it on my xbox, not 360. This is because i tried to play Halo on my 360, but the controls confused me since i was used to plaing with the black and white buttons. Also a bunch of other reasons, like game saves take up even more space on my hard drive and there is no point starting again if im half way through them on my original xbox

I dont use it regularly, but as all those above have said, it's a nice option to have. I didn't own an original xbox, and all my friends did. now they don't own 360s and still continue to buy games for the original xbox that they rave about at school the next day. I usually end up borrowing them so BC is useful then. Once I bought Morrowind from a cheapo second hand game shop at the market and when i got home, found it wasn't compatable. THis was ANNOYING! If Microsoft want to keep their customer base for 360s growing, they need to get more BC games made compatable, as people when considering upgrading, may find this a pivotal selling point.

i think it is important in most cases, meaning the old xbox users who were die hard xbox users, but for myself, no it wasnt, i was purely iterested in the new content available.

Less? they have done ---- all since December and yeah it is important for me anyway, bring out The Warriors then they can stop again but they shouldn't stop here, plus the games I did buy run like ----, aka Scarface.

i thik you should be able to play olod xbox games on it. because when you first get one u dont have loads of games, so you can play a few old ones too. then you dont have to have both of them plugged in. I would love to play outrun2 on live :( will it ever happen.

Well the missus is a devout Halo 2 fan so its a must. If it didn't play xbox games though it wouldn't be that much of a let down for me (I'd make her buy an old xbox instead :D).
