Cache clearing.
*Please note this will also clear all of your game updates so they will also have to be reapplied.*
To do a cache clear you have to:-
1) access memory in the system blade and highlight the hard drive.
2) Press Y, X, X, LB, RB, X, X.
You should then get the following message "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?"
3) Select the Yes option.

Ipod Support - The 360 will play songs from an MP3 player connected via a USB cable, but if you want it to play songs ripped in the AAC Format, you need to download the ipod support from the community downlaod section on the marketplace

A cache is a block of memory for temporary storage of data likely to be used again. The CPU (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CPU) and hard drive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_drive) frequently use a cache, as do web browsers.
A simple definition of Cache would be: A temporary storage area where frequently accessed data can be stored for rapid access.
Well it just simply clears your data basically. I've never done it as I haven't needed to.

also your better off cleaning it and only keeping the updates on for the games your playing regularly.

Don't leave your 360 anywhere near speakers...
Seeing as there is a magnet inside speakers (and a very powerful one in sub-woofers..)... well, I think you get the gist ;)

That's not true at all. The optional iPod support allows you to play unprotected M4A files that you might have ripped from CD in iTunes, not the protected ones bought from the iTunes store.

Here's my tip:
You can stream music from your computer in back-compat mode. Simply queue up a playlist before playing your Xbox1 game. If you have an Xbox remote, you can use that to play, pause, skip forward or skip that, but only if you have a proper remote, not a controller.

Obviously, but say he sat his 360 HDD first on his sub, he may have some problems :p

But I'd prefer if people could post more and then the first post could be a little index to them if you get what I mean.
As especially being on Live there are a great load of tips I hear and people assume you already know them as they have just come accustomed to doing it like that.

In case it's not obvious, scrolling down lists in the Marketplace or, even worse, your streamed music and video goes a lot faster if you use the trigger buttons. They act like the scroll down/up buttons on your keyboard.

Plugging in your play and charge kit before turning off your 360 means your system will go into a low-power mode. It won't do anything but power the USB ports, and once your controller tells the 360 it's charged, your console will automatically shut off completely.

Want to play with 4 people but all you guys and gals have are the wired controllers? USB hubs work just as well for your 360 sticks as they do for plugging in thumbdrives and iPods. And, as a sidenote, in case you missed it, there's a third USB port in the back of the system- so that means three wired controllers can play no problem, you aren't limited to the 2 in the front.

Speaking of controllers, player 1's controller will always be the upper left quadrant, player 2 the upper right, and so on. This is true for pop ups on the screen (for when 2 profiles with different friends lists are signed in), the circle of light on the controller, and the circle o' light on the console itself- whether it's vertical or horizontal.

Hit the Guide button, and then hit your Gamercard. Go down to Game Defaults. Now you can make sure that, say, every FPS you play knows you like inverted Y-axis, auto-aim off, auto-center off.

Now that is handy, especially the Y Axis one. Thanks!

----.. I've got my 360 standing right next to one of my hi-fi speakers on a unit next to my TV..
I haven't had any problems though.. What's it meant to do?

Hard drives are magnetic. They use tiny electro magnets to charge the spinning discs inside with the 1s and 0s of binary. So, a powerful enough magnet can completely wipe a hard drive clean.
Your speakers also use electromagnets. By passing current through the magnet, on and off very quickly, it makes the cone in your speaker move in and out at the same speed, which compresses and decompresses the air around the speaker's cone- creating the sound waves that your ear picks up. psyKom's worried that the magnets in your speakers could corrupt the data on your 360's hard drive.
..I doubt it's a problem.

If you've ever woken up, dragged yourself off the couch or out of bed, noticed you accidentally left your beloved 360 on all night and panicked about what that did to the fragile, nervous ninny of a console we all cherish anyways- or, even worse, came home from the bar and realized you left your 360 on and your TV on, and panicked about some sort of screen burn in- you should turn on the Auto Off feature. Just go over to the System blade, and then console settings. After a few hours of waiting for you to press one of her buttons button or tweak a thumbstick, Lady Xbox will get herself off- er, turn herself off.

Are you the type of person who always needs the latest XBLA trial? Make the 360 stay on top of that for you. In the Games blade, go to the Arcade, and then turn on Auto Downloads. When a New-Game-Wednesday comes and goes, you'll find it waiting for you.
Of course, it won't turn on itself to find out if something's been released.
Most people know this.. But some might have not noticed..
You can see the battery life of your controller by pressing the Xbox Guide button and looking at the top left corner of the screen.

I gather the speakers are Sats? From a 5.1 setup it similar?
They'll be electro-magnetically shielded almost certainly..even the cheapest of Aldi/Lidl nastiness are! You can sit them right on your TV/Xbox without any worry.

Yes, exactly! If the magnets don't distort the picture of a CRT, they won't hurt a hard drive.
