what do you think is a good gamerscore average? its difficult to set because obviously some games like kingkong you get 1000 overnight, and other games like FEAR i completied the whole game on normal difficulty and only got a measily 40 points. and then there are online achievements which if you never play ranked matches, you'll never get most of the points.
so with those things taken into consideration, i think a good gamerpoint average is 400, with 500 being the target to reach.
what do you think?

Well in the begining the majority were mainly for single player only then it went to around 2/3 single. Lately though it's around 50/50 and worse in some games...kind of unfair to those that dont use live.
I would like 900 single and 100 mp - as im not a fan of multiplayer achievements - alot of people cheat to win for the sake of 15 points etc
But i agree with FEAR - no points for finishing it on easy 75 for one ranked win! hmmm if you think that's bad see Bomberman Act Zero...no live no save!

yeah so say you get 1000 on kingkong for example and then 200 on call of duty 2 and then 300 on gears of war, your average would be 500.

on pdz you get 40 nothing for doing single player all the achievments are online and bugged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would have them all bar the 100 match ones by now if it wasnt for the stupid glitched avhivments.
the split is like 20% single player 80% multiplayer/coop

500 or less on a game - you just got all the easy ones.
500-750 - You played the game a lot
750-1000 - Played the game to death
This is how is tihnk it should be anyway

thats maybe what they should be, but as they are now, what do you think is a good personal gamescore average per game?

I have a fairly poor average as I only play GOOD games to death. Some bad games. NHL 2K7 oh and there was DoA 4 :@

all depends on the game. Some games, anything less than 1000 is bad. But R6, Gow CoD3 and some other newer games, anything above 500 is pretty good.

ok so you'd proabably agree that and good AVERAGE would be around 750.

I've got a good average because the score I have right now is out of only 17,600 (16 retail titles and 8 arcade).
I just don't buy too many games, and instead play the ones I have quite a lot. Although I'm sure my score would be at least 1,000 bigger if I hadn't played nothing but GRAW for about 3 months straight in the Summer.

thats true, but i am not asking to compare games. i was just trying to establish what people thought was a good gamesore average.
i reckon 400 is good with an aim to get to 500. above 500 is pretty damn good, in my opinion. and i am not saying that if you get over 500 points in a particular gam eyou are amazing, i am saying that of all the games you've played you get an average gamescore of 500 you're doing well.

well i ment it this way it depends on the game because some dont take any effort to get to 500 points others for instance chromehounds ive only got 500 points on that game and i consider that good

ok i know. that is my point too. that is why i talking about an average across all games.
for example i played kingkong and got 1000. woopee----. then i played gears of wars and i have 430 so far, and fear i got 40. out of them then my average is 490.
i am not saying that if i then stick in fight night 3 and got 1000 pionts that i have done well. it would bring my average up, and if i played quake 4, my average would probably go down.
so i was just trying to gauge what you guys would think a good average across all games would be. not trying to establish a common benchmark score for a particular game.

Just after reading through this - I realised what a retarded question it was really.
I mean, with some games having stupidly easy GS, and some having stupidly hard, there's just no way to come up with any sort of average.
AND, with some games not even having 1000 GS available, it's just daf.t
PLUS, why does it matter? :/

Might not matter to you, doesn't even matter to me either but it could give GS wh0res and idea of how many points they get from each game.

I know what you're getting at here chewie. I would hope to get at least 500 points from each of my games. I've had more than that on some and less than that on some, but I'll keep going back to the ones that I've got a low score on until I admit defeat (and I'm a stubborn bugger). (Y)
