For those who have COMPLETED Condemned

This does have some major spoilers, so turn back now if you haven't yet completed the game.

I'm just trying to work out the story really, because some of it was pretty confusing.

Okay, so you are Ethan, a CSI on the hunt for a serial killer who goes by the name of the Matchmaker, during the investigation, someone steals your gun and shoots the 2 police officers who are at the crime scene with you and runs off. You are now a man wanted for the murder of both police officers, so you seek help from Rosa, to track down the real murderer and prove yourself to be innocent. You also meet a middle aged man named Malcolm who seems to know alot about you, but more on him later.

Later on in the game, you find the Matchmaker dead, he died the same way his victims did. Meaning that there is a serial killer who kills serial killers like they did to thier victims, but only the ones that you're investigating. You find out that the murderer who goes by the name of SKX is just using you to find these serial killers so he can kill them. Ethan then catches on and figures that he has to kill him.

You then get knocked out by Malcolm, who is actually SKX's father (Or close relative) he tells you that there is something wrong with SKX (real name Leland) which gives him his bloodlust to kill.

Now this is where things start getting messed up, as you are supposed to kill evil in it's tangible form, you find this "evil" which is full of metal parts and kill it, one move is where you rip his jaw off.

Then you find yourself in a car with Malcolm, you discover that there is someone in the boot and go to investigate, it is SKX and you have the option to kill him, or for him to kill himself.

Later on Ethan talks to Rosa, who reveals that she was wired all along, does that mean that the government is interested in Ethan, or does it mean that they are keeping an eye on him?

The last scene is where Ethan is in the bathroom, the last thing he does is that he turns around revieling that he has no jaw. Does this ring a bell to you? This must mean that Ethan must have had some fight going on his mind and he managed to overcome it by killing it.

There is alot that's still uncovered, what is this "gift" that Malcolm says Ethan has? And what was the symbolism behind the dead birds? I think the metal scraps symbolised the end fight, hence the boss was covered with metal.

That is just about all that I've learned from this odd storyline, and I do know that it as left many people confused (myself included).

Ethan and skx also seem to be quite similar as vanhorn mentions, which I guess means SKX may share the same abilities as you such as your instincts since your both down the "same path of rightousness" but I think SKX lets this evil power consume him and make him do these things which is why vanhorn says he wasnt strong enough like the rest of us unlike Ethan of managed to control the power and use it to do good and the thing at the end could possibly be a sign that evil in the end did take over Ethan? this is just an idea I had though about the ending

You have got really good points there, I also figured that at the end, the evil inside Ethan was not defeated.

So what about this cult thing? Do you think Ethan maybe a member of it, which is why he would not talk about it, and maybe that's why he's evil.

Im not totally sure about the cult, maybe they did something to you which could explain the weird things about Ethan but he doesn't remember. I think vanhorn must have something to do with the Cult aswell since he seems to know alot about you and the abilities you have and the way he says that SKX wasnt as strong as the rest of us surely means there are a few people with the same thing probrably from the cult. I also wonder if Ethan perhaps knows more than we do about the cult since after Rosa tells him he is wired he changes what he is about to tell her and tells her he doesnt know anything about the cult. There is supposed to be propaganda reports you can unlock as acheivements, dont know how but there are 4 and the apparently change to ending to give more info on the cult and other unexplained events so I think ill need to play through it again to see if I can unravel more about the story.

For the other poster the game is great, very atmospheric and scary, Didn't think it was too gory, only really blood untill later on into the game when you see some of the serial killers victims and stuff whcih you might find kinda disturbing. There is also supposed to be a demo out on the marketplace today so give that ago if your still unsure about getting the game

It will make you jump most likely and it isn't too gory its all good. It does however get a bit repetitive. I've completed it on my missus' account though and I gave Fleeboi a few pointers too ;)

The game can be very very very gory Russ... there were times if you smash someone across their face - that not only do you see blood spurt out but their teeth seem to fly across the screen... Their reactions from being attacked are superb, and where some seem to stumble dazed as you would expect others turn to rage and come straight back at you.

It is really well done. It is however a game I would NEVER intend to show my two six year old boys - - put it that way...its very much an adults only game in my opinion.

You can also pummel a dead person then look up at your weapon and notice how much blood is dripping all over it - sick but cool.

Yes you believed you were tracking one killer only to find Serial Killer X was using you to track Serial Killers so that he could kill them the way they killed their victims... and the Old fella was the Uncle of SKX. The way the story unfolded was pretty slick as you thought you knew everything and then BAM they throw a boomarang (sp ?) at you and knock you for six but make you go "Ahhhhhhhh I see now - how cool" !!!!

In terms of how I saw the game, Ethan has some form of ESP and that is what I saw as his gift as you often throughout the game Ethan haves a flashback of what happened in a certain room etc etc etc... so his gift imo was his ESP.

The cult was a strange piece and never really answered in my mind - why these lunatics were like they were, crazed, strange looking, beast like in actions la la laaaa etc etc - and well the end piece with Ethan where he turns from the bathroom mirror and his face resembles the demon boss - I am not sure if Ethan had been possessed by his spirit when he defeated him - or if they were trying to show that we all carry a demon within us and with Ethans nightmare losing his sanity - this demon was about to take over.......

Condemned 2 perhaps... I would certainly hope so :party:

Completed this game 3 days ago. One of the best games I have ever played. It's so gripping. You pick it and and you can't put it down again. I'm playing it again for some reason!

this is what i think the last bad guy was a demond and that the old bloke thats feeding you info is a demond hunter and so was your father.

the demond is affecting peoples minds bringing about rage in people and the birds minds just carnt take the manipulation and they die, also if you notice through out the game the demon is following you and you c him now and again. to the people affected by the manipulation they are people of low stature like homless people addicts ect they seem to be more easly effected by its powers.

one thing that does contradict my theory is that on the libary mission the bad guys seem to be well organised and working as a team, might be part of the cult thats mentioned but im nto so sure, mabey your not ment to get answers till number 2.

Obviously many of us already know in order to get this achievment, we need to go through the game without missing a single bird. Unfortunatly for many of us, this information is too little too late. Here is how to solve your problem. I rented this game, beat it and was missing 2 birds, I went back to get them and still, no achievment, nor did I get an achievment for all the metals/meelee maham. I then went to my HDD and deleted EVERYTHING that has to do with condemned, and then startd the game over on easy.

Once I was finished the second chapter ( after getting all birds/metals in the first and second) my golden bird achievment unlocked- dont ask how, it just did. Which was weird becsaue I only collected a total of 12 birds since all my previous files were deleted. This may be woth trying out for other people to because I know going through the game AGAIN just go get that little achievment may turn some people off. Hopefully everyone just has to beat the first 2 levels in order to get their achievment too.

Erm, not really tbh. Thanks anyway though.

Becuase I have read a lot on the xbox.com forums about this, there's like 30-odd threads on it. And people have done it loads of different ways. The most popular been that you need to collect another 20 birds, so I did this, infact I got another 36 birds in addition to the 60 by going over the first 6 chapters again and I still didn't get the achieveemtns. It complete ballls if you ask me. Im gonna hold on to the game to see if they release a patch or somethnig for it.

So did you shoot the guy in the trunk or did you leave him? Me, well by the time I thought about it and was about to shoot him the cross hair was moving away and that lead to him killing himself LOL.

Is it the same ending either way?

Nope its exactly the same but you should load the last checkpoint and beat the final boss and shoot skx this time so you get the other achievement
