So, never happened before. But i got Viva Pinata and played it for like 3 days been fine. But couple days back when i put in Viva the 360 starts making a bloody rattling noise. And i cant turn the volume high enough to get rid of it, lol. Erm but it doesnt happen when the console is placed Vertically, weird..

Anyone else have problems with very noise dvd drives with certain games?

Mine makes the same kind of noise, it's been doing it for around a month now. No problems though.

Don't even scare him with that. You are not going to get the 3 red lights if it's making a strange sound.

Place the 360 Vertically if you are hearing strange sounds coming from the drive. It's telling you that if you leave it like that you might find a nice scratch mark. :p

Hey mine makes moderate noise, not very loud but noisy enough.

But My 360 just broke today, Crashed 4 times when booting it up and ive had red lights since. So gamestation are giving me a new one tommorow .W00t.

nah no scrathes, all other games are working fine, the power ----- is well placed and so is the 360. Just another one of xbox's surprises i guess :P

And yes i do put it vertical if it happens :)

No need to brag. ;)

It couldn't be that the disc is warped could it? Might have been left out near a heat source for an extended period of time or such?

nope all of my games are stored in their covers in a large computer desk draw, not near any type of heatign source. Its fixed now, so who cares :P

It rattles with Viva? Hmm. Weird. My only guess is that maybe the Viva disc isn't perfectly flat and balanced anymore, and so in the horizontal position, it throws everything out of wack?

I noticed mine made alot of noise for the first week I had it but it calmed down, almost like it needed breaking in because it had been dormant for so long. It's pretty silent now.

my secons 360 - born this week sounds alot louder than my old one (now on it's way back to MS), but has caused no problems so far. There again I dont have to turn the TV up to drown it out either...how odd, but like you said, it's ok now...so meh :)

my replacement seems a lot louder too......maybe its just paranoia, but it also seems to skip a lot on THP8 (does anyone else encounter this with this game or is it just me) I'd think not though, as it completely froze on my original :P
