As some of you may know I am staff on Matchbox360 (http://matchbox360.co.uk/) and I'd like to share some of the competitions we have planned over the next few weeks.
Matchbox360's aim is to provide quality Xbox Live competitions and we took it one step further in November with our first LAN event in Birmingham. Our forums and frontpage had a complete overhaul and tonight we launched the new competitions.
So, we have:
HALO2 FFA (http://www.matchbox360.co.uk/events/Halo+2+-+FFA)
HALO2 4v4 (http://www.matchbox360.co.uk/events/Halo+2+-+4v4+Knockout)
GEARS OF WAR - EXECUTION 4v4 (http://www.matchbox360.co.uk/events/Gears+of+War+-+Execution+4v4)
RAINBOW 6 VEGAS - TEAM SURVIVAL 4v4 (http://www.matchbox360.co.uk/events/Rainbow+6+Vegas+-+Team+Survival+4v4)
PGR3 LEAGUE - SEASON 3 (http://www.matchbox360.co.uk/events/PGR3+League+-+Season3)
PES6 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE (http://www.matchbox360.co.uk/events/PES6+Champions+League)
All these competitions are FREE to enter and open to any European gamer.
So what do you 'have to do' if you are interested in taking part in any or all of the competitions?
1. Head over to Matchbox360 (http://www.matchbox360.co.uk/) and sign up to the forums.
2. Have a look through the competition details on the frontpage and also have a look in our Competitions subforum (http://community.matchbox360.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=27).
3. Sign up for the competition on our frontpage.
If you don't have a team, but would still like to participate or find a team, please do check out the subforums for the specific competitions. As of posting this I know that there are several other people that don't have a team just yet.
As said before every competition is free. Prizes so far are unconfirmed, but we will update it as soon as they are.
Spaces are limited, so if you are interested, you will need to make your mind up very soon!
Any more questions, please feel free to ask them here or in our forums.
Thanks, Ant for allowing me to post this here.
I hope to see many of you guys taking part.
Cat :)
EDIT: The forums are still looking a bit bare at the moment. We switched to vBulletin a few weeks ago and decided not ot carry the database across, as we'd previously migrated it accross different forums. This (http://community.matchbox360.co.uk/vanilla/) is our old forum (viewing only) and we haven't got any of the information for previous competitions, but we have run several PGR3 leagues, many Halo2 competitions and more. :)
EDIT2: There are some problems signing into the frontpage and registering, as it occasionally gives the 'Applications Error, Rails' message. This is most likely due to the short timespan between the sign up to the forums and the attempt to register for a comp. If that still occurs, please post your details in this thread (http://community.matchbox360.co.uk/showthread.php?t=282). Any more problems, feel free to PM me on here or MB.
Make sure that you read the rules and gametypes settings before registering. There are set times for some of them and those need to be fulfilled. If you can't make a fixture in either the PGR3 or PES6 league you have to inform the others in the forums.
All team members need to be signed up to Matchbox360 prior to signing up for any of teh team competitions. It's the responsibility of the teamleader to ensure they are. ;)
