Gears...where did it go wrong......

after this so called "update" i have noticed a LOT of bad things. Here is what i dont like

-A helluva lot more lag than usual
- shotguns don't do jack damage to enemies and feel as if u arent even shooting them
-NEW MAPS! Great idea right? WRONG man these maps suck, even for free i was expecting something better

what i did like

- erm.....the maps were free after all

me and a few o my friends were playin all the new maps with update and all that and we were shocked toseethat this game is well and truly ruined.....PLEASE epic do whats right and put it back to the way it was

i agree with you the update fixed nothing, i got that chainsaw wobbly thing today when you chainsaw someone the two maps are sweet tho. I just hope they release another patch that actually fixes it next time

i would just like to thank you for agreeing with m, i thought i would get flamed for admitting that its just not great anymore. a MAJOR dissapointment

i always had strong opinions about the randomness of the damage in the game infact it made me play other games as it annoyed me soo much

Yeah the damage in the mp is very poor i was making headshots the other day with the shotgun and weh hey not one kill.

i not noticed the damage thing since the update at al.. the chainsore thing aint a prob reli? and they fixed the greade problem, i used to hate this game- but at the mo its all i play now! also free maps are assome! (ok so raven down isnt the best map, but oldbones is good)

im not too sure about the update. i dont like that you cant see who is host.

But the damage thing is kinda down to lag, or doing perfect reloads (it makes your gun miles better).

the game is still more about who plays as a team best, and not as much on skill. Which is why the host thing is annoying me coz playing with your mates is what this game is supposed to be about.
I know there is player match, but the 10000 kills will never be reached if i play player matches.

i agree there still are alot of problems. Espiecially the host power. And to prove the host power, a story. I was chasing this kid and he was about 10 feet away from me doing a roadie run, i decide wtf ill take a shot, and what do ya know i kill him with a headshot with a shotgun, i was flabergasted.

Mapwise, i dont like Raven Down too much but old bones is pretty good.

yeah headshots are WAAAAAAAAY too common now, especially with the shotgun. i remember i used to get maybe just 1 shotgun headshot kill a day, now its like i get 3 in a game, much like TBS Trojan said, they happen so awkwardly, like they are roadie running to you and u just take a shot then their head is off. the victim wasnt to happy and accused me of cheating, etc. and its just beyond the joke, why should epic fix it now that they have our mone in their pockets, nice one Epic

If anyones been on Epics forums then they'll know theres been mass uproar about the patch. The one main annoyance that all those threads seem to complain about is the host name being removed from rank matches (which I also have complained about). The patch has been a success though apart from that really annoying inclusion. They still need to do something about the hosts fire power though as its shockingly much better than your own.

Yeah, this game is generally crap online, I hate to say this but I knew it would be.

Want to find out who the host is? He's the one wielding a shotgun that's as powerfull as rocket launcher when they are 20 feet from you.

As many complaints as there are, Epic will do nothing about it. The exact same thing happened when UbiSoft released a horrible patch for GRAW, but they did absolutely nothing about it. Said that they'd be creating a new patch to fix some of the problems, and just never bothered.

Looks like Epic may have ruined Gears online. :unsure:

GoW has never been a good game across live! Yes it may look pretty..but looks carnt mask poor modes.

I dont hate the game - it was good overall - it's just not what everyone say's it is. It's a game everyone should own but that doesnt mean everyone should play it 24/7.

In another post you mentioned your pal's were trading it for Lost Planet...smart move, though LP's multiplayer is quite a different exp than GoW. For one thing it's hard, slow pased and takes ages to kill - everything GoW is not

I'll be keeping an eye out for these things you've all mentioned. My 360 kicked the bucket last week and I'm just getting ready to call UPS so they can deliver it to Microsoft and get it patched up. Because of this, I haven't had the chance to download the new patch for Gears of War and I'm surprised it has received a negative response since many people were saying how this patch would improve the game drastically rather than make it worse. An interesting turn of events, to say the least.

yea its really sad because this game has so much potential, they just don't do anything about it.i agree the tags have been semi-solved, but they need to work on chainsaw lags, and host power.
