... the official 'Change your Gamertag' day?

You guys might remember my rant from a few weeks ago when I complained how people change their Gamertags and no one knows who they are.

So far today 7 peopleon my FL, completely unrelated to each other, have changed their Gamertags. So I'm beginning to wonder, am I missing something? Is their some kind of reduction or one day sale for the changing of a Gamertag?

Why don't you just delete them, especially if they didn't give you a heads up about it?

I think you should be able to rename contacts or give them nicknames to save alot of hassle, so it makes it easier to remember. However it would still cause trouble if you were playing them in a game as there true tag would appear..So :unsure:

I'm changing mine soon, had it over a year, I will change ti when I have to upgrade LIVE again. Both at same time.

I really like yours, it's catchy and unique. I would change mine but I've been JJBDude for like 3 years and the amount of people that know me as JJB is very high. So yeah boring JJBDude48 will stay the same for me. :D

Oh and carocat I saw on the dashboard in the news box that there's an advertisement for changing your gamertag, I'm willing to bet that's the reason why people have changed theirs. :)

Rather than start a thread to ask the question I thought I'd do it in here. Who the hell has changed their name to SteveBrookstein on my friends list? Thats the way its spelled on the list too.

Yes I know that Steve Brookstein is the guy who won X Factor before someone gets that in.

The only other thing I can say is the region says United Kingdom so its more than likely somebody who visits this site or another site I go on.

Well there's no actual point in it, but if you have become to dislike you Gamertag that you could of have chosen a couple of years back but have earned achievements on it you might not want to lose them.
