I'd thought i'd start a thread to help those who might need a bit of assistance in this great game.

Typical questions i have been asked include:-

How do i kill the Giant Worm in Mission 3?

Well you have to hit it's Energy Glowing points on it's side - use the standard machine guns and try to destory 3/4 of them on easy and 6/7 on normal. There are actually 3 worms in the plains. Stick in one area and the one you are killing red circle will get less bright! Please remember you dont have to kill this! to complete level

How do you kill the Giant Moth?

When you climb to the top of the mountain of mission 5 - follow the same principles ie destory the energy points - aim for its head using the laser gun for a VS which can be found on floor below . Please remember you dont have to kill this! to complete level

Online Achievements

You have to get 10 medals in each online mode ie 10 in Team Elimination, 10 in Fugitive etc. The other is just to get 1 medal in each mode

Different patterns come as you progress in rank - just like extra characters which start at level 30. Max rank is 99?

The secret one's are for the 12 missions and the numerous coins scattered in the mission. Please note some have more than 5 and are a pig to find.

There is a secret achievement worth 150 points - that is for completing it on Extreme (apparently)

Ok, I just finished the easy run through of campaign mode but a am as confused as ever about the story. Could someone please tell me the plot? PM me if you want, major spoilers and all.

Ah sorry(Y) Still, no one going to answer my question?:)
Any who to get the Worm hunter achievement you need to destroy the thermal energy spots that are on it's head and tail, I did this on easy and I only had to destroy three or four(Y). There are actually two worms, one on each side of the plain. You only need to kill one to get the achievement. You also need to finish off the level to get the achievement.

The Moth hunter one is pretty easy, on mission five you circles around the mountain as you climb it, get to the highest point you can without entering the cavern and kill it here, to do this pick up the laser rifle you find near the top, get it fully charged, wait until it is close and facing you and shot it head on into the face. Do this a couple of times and it is dead. again you need to finish the level to get the achievement.

For the coins there is a great guide I have found on the web that I am about to use, it should be noted that the locations of the coins change depending on what difficulty you are playing on.

The last two achievements are collecting all of the coins from all of the levels and for beating the game on insane difficulty, which is unlocked when you beat the game on any difficulty(Y)

Level 1 - EARTH : 10pts

E) When you reach the first building the E is located on the left corner.
A) The A is located just after the car park in the first building, to the right of the exit after the data post.
R) Located in the left end room of the warehouse (the second building you enter).
T) In the large cavern just before the boss room, T is located on the upper right platform in a little alcove. to the right of the bridge.
H) Far rear right of the cavern right before crossing the slime bridge to the boss room, just further along from the data post.

Level 2 - STORM : 10pts

S) Pass under the huge arch just after the first open area, the S is loacted on the roof of a door entrance to the left.
T) After passing through the snow tunnel go to the end of the road, the T is located under the overhang of the building at the end.
O) Just before climbing up the destroyed building to the freeway you'll see it clear as day above some rubble.
R) After completing the highway section the R is located half way down the highway tunnel on the left side on a box.
M) The M is found in the last section before the boss arena, in the stair alcove on the roof of the building with two missle turrets on it.

Level 3 - MIRAGE : 10pts

M) As you start the level, on the box facing you to your left.
I) On the fence around the area in which you start, on the right side by the opening.
R) On the steps to the building on the right, half way across the snow field.
A) At the foot of the fencing next to the derelict hanger where you fight basil.
G) On the wall of the citadel at the end of the field, half way down.
E) Follow the edge of the ravine, the E is roughly 2/3 of the way to the citadel.

Level 4 - METEOR : 10pts

M) On the left ledge just after the first right turn in the level.
E) On the ground to the right of the exit in the round room you drop into from above, beside the boxes.
T) In the hall with the crane the T is located to the right behind the boxes.
E) Just after leaving the crane room and you drop to the lower platform, the E is located against the wall.
O) After climbing up the cliff edge and entering the building at the top, the O is located in the far left corner under the lift platform.
R) Located in the corner of the map just after climbing up the building to the roof in the VS.

Level 5 - AURORA : 15pts

A) Located on the right side of the mountain side one floor up at the start of the level.
U) Located on the left most area of the mountain side at the start of the level.
R) At the top of the mountainside to the left of the path before entering the tunnel in the rock face.
O) At the bottom of the spiral room in the corner beside the VS shotgun.
R) At the top of the spiral room behind a boulder in the looped tunnel leading to the highest section.
A) In the room of the blue column of ice take the right passage into the room, as you enter this room the A is on the floor to the left.

Level 6 - THUNDER : 15pts

H) Behind a section of rubble at the start of the level.
U) Just as you pass under the first bridge there is an auto-turret to your left, it is located on the left section of this platform.
T) At the foot of the second bridge, on the right side.
N) Standing under the second bridge looking forwards where the VS appeared, high up in the building work.
D) Just after entering the buildings you grapple up onto a ledge with a box on fire, it is located in this fire.
R) When you enter the dome access tunnel in the VS, it's located on the right side attached to lights just before the ramp at the end.
E) Located at the very end up on the wall on a pipe in the darkness at the top of the afore mentioned ramp.

Level 7 - TORNADO : 15pts

T) Located on top of a storage container near the start of the level
O) On the rocky outcrop to the right side of the field just before the tunnel entrance.
N) Just after passing through the first tunnel, behind one of the snow covered buildings.
R) On the top of the wall beside the doorway out of the snow field.
O) On the right side of the map on the ledges just after emerging from the entrance to the base.
D) In one of the ditches on the lowest platform to the left of the base entrance.
A) Above the large doors to the far side of the base entrance, on the rim of the door decoration.

Level 8 - VOLCANO : 20pts

V) On the second beam crossing your path at the start of the level.
O) On the rafters in the main hall with the driller VS at the bottom.
L) In the second small lava flow room by the exit wall on the right side.
C) On the furthest road away from the entrance to the volcanic area.
A) On the bridge with two large storage containers on it, on the left side of the lower box.
N) Behind the final right pillar in the tunnel leading to the last section of the level, before dropping down.
O) Located on the left side of a tube support beam, just before entering the levels final arena.

Level 9 - RAINBOW : 20pts

R) In the doorway of the container holding two VS's in the first area.
A) Sat on top of a box in the lava flow in the first area, at the top of the lava flow.
I) After making your way down into the building, you'll find it located on the top of a 2 stacked boxes opposite the driller VS.
N) With the VS drill through the left blocked doorway, work your way down to the high ledge, the coin will be on the left side of the ledge.
B) After dropping down the hole with the two spiky feelers, the B is beside the VS.
O) Just after finding the B, take the narrow left path up into the room, the O is in the corner of this room beside the light.
W) Just before the boss room you descend in a hall under a small footbridge, the W is behind the right side of this footbridge.

Level 10 - BLIZZARD : 20pts

B) Left hand door at the start of the level, after dropping down.
L) As you drop down the nest hole at the base of the light shaft the L is at the end of the passge beside the fuel tank.
I) Beside a search light underneath the raised ledge to the right.
Z) On the ledge opposite the wall you jump across to advance in the level.
Z) After killing the tentacle boss, enter the door behind it, the Z is located on top of a box in the tunnel.
A) As you enter the next arena jump across to the right, past the large closed door, its on the corner of the floor near the data post.
R) After dropping down into the VS storage room, there are a pile of cargo boxes near the exit door, it's located on the far side corner.
D) Under the red framework in the same area as the R.

Level 11 - STARDUST : 30pts

S) At the bottom of the pit.
T) Directly above the S on the underside of the ledge.
A) Above the round port hole you start the level at.
R) By the door before going through the first ring floor.
D) Just above the first ring floor.
U) On the second level doorway.
S) Above the second level doorway.
T) Above the second floor ring, just above where the S is.

EDIT again:
The highest online rank I have seen so far is 80,do 99-100 is probably the highest rank, you start unlocking new charecters to use around level 30, according to the interwebs:)

I finally got around to finishing the game only on normal mind and that, as when you complete it on any difficulty unlocks Extreme.

Well it is extreme....and there's no data pods (terminals) and although the enemies appear to go down just as quick? you really have to kill everyone to stay alive.

Oh and the target markers ''coins'' arent in the locations - or do not appear in Extreme difficulty!

For some this could be a spolier - Your VS will undergo a transformation and the control system will change once again - hence why i have inc button to press.

To kill the mission 11 (final boss) you basically (well i did it this way on normal) hold your ground and dont get to close to him, infact fly off a bit and fire your weapon at him (X button weapon). He will automatically make a shield to counter the attack. Repeat as you get closer and closer to him. When up close use the LT or RT weapons (sometime's i pressed both) - this should swipe attack him and cause major damage. Repeat process. The only thing you have to watch out for really is his floating gun!

Hey I killed the final boss by waiting until he had attacked, charging the sword slash move and kept hitting him with it, takes about 5 or 6 shots with that(Y)

this worm is really ******* me off now. i have killed one at last then i get eatten by another. why the hell does it not let u save it as u go along, if you can do it in a PC game u should be able to do it on a 360 game. i am getting close to putting this game in its metal box and getting a hammer and smashing the 5hit out of it.

and if anyone comes in my room and says its only a game i am gonna scream.

Do u get the achievment if you just kill one of the worms? I killed one today then another one poped up but i was not concentrating and it got me right where it hurts in its mouth lol, took me about 20 minutes to take down the 1st one as well. Oh and another thing i completed the game but i have only done 11 missions on the back of the case it says there are 12 single player missions

How many times have i said this there are 3 worms...i have had 3 large round red dots on my radar and look at the opening sequences on the start menu....3.

You do not have to kill any...but 1 is enough. I killed 1 by staying up at the top just as you enter the plains via those sheet metal barriers.

Shoot 4 of it's energy sources on easy and 6 on normal etc etc

To kill Green Eye you need as you said to take out the 4 energy pods on both sides then the 6? around the top of his neck/head. My tip is to try and stay either side of him ie if it goes one way counter attack him and try and keep some distance. There are plenty of guns/rocket lauchers etc in that room for your VS.

Wayne is still alive he just loses his memory all together in the end because of the harmonizer upgrade that gives him special powers with the VS you get at the end.

Yes this is perhaps the strangist boss..you dont seem to hurt but you do. If you look above you can see serveral parts of the tube that have glowing edges - you shoot them and the post in the middle can fall down. Shooting these will destroy the VSes around the boss.

Now this prob isnt the way to kill him (but it works!!!) you have 3 VSes at the back up above so make sure these aswell.

It's just a case of putting you VS around one of the raised circles on the floor like the one that held the tube. This way the boss carnt run damage you. Keep hitting him and he'll morph into a spider type VS. This is the chance to damage him big time. Depending on the VS you are using it will have diff weapons. I suggest picking up grenades/rocket lauches - bullets doesnt hurt it. If you use all VSes just follow the above. Make Wayne run around and jump on on the circle when nessacary and pump rockets into it while in Spider form a few hits and it's done.

Now this is a pain - but this way it works!

i am on lvl11, i guess u have to pop all the orange ball things, and kill the main mech, but how do u blow up the guns next to him that shoot pink lazers. as i have had him nearly dead so many times, but they just lazer me...can any one help?

No there are no guides yet... i have found a couple on extreme and they seem to be in higher places...my suggestion is to look around.


I really do hope that the secret 50 points isnt for collecting the medals on each difficulty..that would be impossible on extreme as you have barely enough enegry to make through the level
