Nope it isn't. Did some research about this exact one a while back and it's not HD-Ready.

# Visible Diagonal: 19"
# Resolution: 1440 x 900
# Brightness: 300 cd/m²
# Response Time: 8ms
# Dynamic Contrast Ratio 500:1
# Viewing angle: (H/V) 150°/130°
# Backlight: CCFL

1280 x 720 is HD so this would be HD Compatible over a 360 VGA Cable.

Are the 26" Sammys around £600 though?

19" for £500 is way to much. I bought my 20" Widescreen dell for £300. Infact.. yeh what are you doing even looking at that if a normal monitor is cheaper and better.

The unit he has linked to is £269.99. If you look around you can pick it up for around £250 online.

Which is pretty decent for a 19inch Widescreen LCD TV.

Ah my bad I saw £500 in his post.

£250... if I was on a budget I would by a 19"W from somewhere like overclockers and a digibox (+connecters). I just think that colour ratio is really bad and if someone wanted to go HD they would go for at least 800:1 +. Going HD just for the sake of saying you have HD is pointless. (Not saying that's what robsta is doing). But you all know me by now and I'm a AV addict. Trying to get the best out of the cash I have and saving up if I need to.

True Tob3z

THIS (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-012-DE) would be the better option, if you add a freeview box if TV is important to you.

If you have £399.99 then THIS (http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/product.php?lang=&product_id=21790&session=b05b5c723db7b26b6f159a7495145a55) has been getting decent reviews.

Takes the mic. The E207 has a 5ms response time while my more expensive 2007 has a 16ms rt. Tut. I dont need composite/svideo inputs either.

It can display HD Resolutions. The reason they cant claim it as HD Ready is it lacks the component inputs (Analog YPbPr) and also lacks HDCP.

It works fine on the Xbox 360 though at 720p through a VGA Cable.

Tob3z - Contrast ratio doesnt make that much difference at all. None of the contrast ratios listed by manufacturers are fact, they are claims. Ready what video magazine and it has their true contrast ratio published.

While contrast ratios may not be a problem now and are normally taken with a pinch of salt seeing something with a Dynamic contrast ratio of 500 is very off putting. From my 32" Samsung its very obvious that the monitor has a low ratio as you can spot missing shades. More in the brown/black shades.

The new 32 Samsung has a dynamic contrast ratio of 5000:1 which is really a contrast ratio of 1300:1.

So if the monitor robsta is interested in has a dynamic CR of 500:1... well...

Like I said it would be much better to go down the monitor & Digibox route if your short on cash.

Yeah, the monitor route is a good one as long as you know how to do your connections properly.
